SOME COULD SAY THAT HER LIFE WAS GAINING BACK MEANING. after getting into college with tony’s help she has found a new purpose to occupy her mind. no longer was she sulking in her room about how without the captain there was no point in her existence. sure, sometimes valerie had bad days. but often the reminder that she had responsibilities kept her going, made her open notebooks and bury herself in history until bad thoughts were replaced by certain events. it helped a lot. the best thing about going to school was probably the people. finally having friends other than the avengers was an amazing experience. going out, leaving the facility to at least get dinner or see a movie. it made her more alive than she ever felt in the last four or five years. like... she was finally happy.
but then trouble happened, of course. one would know that after the calm always came the storm. there was an alert that she ignored because she was having an important seminar and then the media went crazy. like they always did. CAPTAIN AMERICA SPOTTED. BLACK WIDOW SPOTTED. A GROUP OF AVENGERS she turned the radio after a while, driving to the compbound and attempting at keeping her cool. which she of course failed at because she mainly had tony for company lately and that was a very bad example. the shield drove straight to the garage, staying in the car for a while. for sure friday has already alerted them that valerie was back. like the traitor always did. actually leaving the vehicle and moving towards the main room was a lot harder than driving here. it was clear who she would face coming into that room. it was clear that they’ve already noticed her in the corridors. ( honestly, who let tony put all of these glass walls in here? ) her breath stopped for a second when she stepped in. anxiety. like her friends got before tests. blue eyes swept over the twins and she ignored the pain in her chest to turn to tony. ❛ sorry, i came as fast as i could. what’s the situation? ❜
