Impasug-ong, Bukidnon

Earlier this month my college friends and I went trekking at Panimahawa Ridge, a mountain range located at Impalutao, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. It was one great outdoor adventure for me since I had a hard time asking permission from my parents to go out with them. I could say it is one for the books to be shared about how exciting my experience was. 

It was 6-hour trek back and forth accompanied by tour guides, we also spent the night at the ridge since we started on the afternoon. It was somehow a rough trek on going to the ridge because we were overtaken by the rain, the path was very slippery and muddy making us keep off our balances. Upon arriving at the ridge, we were all soaking wet due to both rain and sweat hahaha. We set up all our tents, changed our clothes, ate dinner which were canned goods and spent the remaining hours watching the stars above and city lights on the other side. The mountain air was so cold and breezy. The place was very quiet and peaceful, you could even think of a midnight or shower thoughts in there. 

In the morning, we woke up at sunrise. It was very breathtaking to see such a view. You could see the whole mountain range and the sea of clouds below us.It was the best morning view I could ever imagined. I could say the trek was worth it despite of the rough road we had during the hike, the reward was the magnificent landscape. Upon going down to the starting point, the tour guide even prepared breakfast for us. It was a “boodle fight” breakfast which is usually done in camping. We then proceeded to the Cedar Forest wherein we hiked to view the natural wonders of spring and waterfalls and finally went swimming at the Gantungan Falls. The flowing water was hghly cold, a true and natural fresh water. Throughout the day, all I can think of was the extreme adventure we had since we spent the day hiking, sleeping in tents, walk on hanging bridges, swimming in waterfalls and walking around in big and slippery rocks. It was very worth it and an unforgettable experience for me. 

On the next day, we spent the day touring around downtown in Malaybalay. We went at Yaka Restobar enjoying the quality time for the night and went to the Provincial Zoo in the morning before hitting on the road going home.
