NOIRTOWN, the newest experience from immersive theater company WITNESS, opens August 9th as part of the Ken Davenport-produced Rave Theater Festival for five performances only.

A fully immersive promenade-style experience, NOIRTOWN plunges audiences into the shadowy and seductive world of film noir, where private eyes and femme fatales mingle in the dark corners of the city by night. Three radically different detectives take three radically different cases, all of which seem to be linked by the same enigmatic woman. As they each try to get to the bottom of their own mystery, more questions than answers are unearthed... Audiences are invited to follow their own detective instincts, and will be free to roam throughout the space and follow whichever characters and threads they please.

The cast features Nik Duggan, Daniel Harray (Orange is the New Black), Shane Jensen (Sleep No More), Kendall Kemp, Chelsey Ng (Sleep No More), and Stephanie Salgado. NOIRTOWN is written by Michael Bontatibus and directed by Charlotte Murray.

Episode Six: A Horse By The Tail In The Night

Two obscure aristocrats are fated to dine together indefinitely over the course of an evening that will not cease. Cursed with abundance, they chew away the hours, their food and drink complemented with the bitter fruits of their recollections; spiced with regret and desire, mellowed with well-worn stories. Any attempt to exhaust the inexhaustible is doomed to fail. But like a finely cured meat there is pleasure to be had in consuming the decay and even more in sharing it with whom you may.

As a set of stories are told and re-told over the course of eight (yes, 8) hours, the audience has a choice: Stay for an hour and experience one course of a larger meal? Stay for a longer stretch as the stories evolve and devolve? Drop in and out over the course of the day?

Tennessee on Hudson invites guests to “Elysian Fields” & “Kindness of Strangers” the first in an ongoing series that explores several of Williams One Act Plays and his salacious world set free through-out New York City.

Tennessee on Hudson is an Original Immersive Theatrical Experience. Actors Theater of New York City is an ensemble based company of artists and free thinkers.

NOIRTOWN is taking place as part of the Ken Davenport-produced Rave Theater Festival this August. It's a great opportunity to bring WITNESS's brand of immersive theater into Manhattan, and the festival has been incredibly accommodating of this unique production's needs so far. We've got an incredibly talented cast and crew on board, and it's shaping up to be another one-of-a-kind immersive experience.

However -- fans of immersive theater will know all too well that these types of shows are in short supply, and when they do pop up, you sometimes have to sell a kidney to afford tickets. It's our goal to be consistently producing high-quality immersive shows at reasonable cost for our audiences (tickets for NOIRTOWN are $35). To be fair, the triple-digit ticket prices you often see for immersive theater are simply reflective of the financial reality of producing it, especially in New York: real estate is more expensive here than anywhere else in the country, and arts funding in the US is scant. We don't want to go the route of charging hundreds of dollars for tickets, but we also only get 5 performances through the Rave Festival -- which is all to say, we're not going to be able to run this production on ticket revenue alone.

We're inviting you to become part of NOIRTOWN in its world premiere production by helping it become a reality.
