Villa Epecuén, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina

In 1985, Villa Epecuén vanished beneath the waters of a swelling lake in Argentina's Imereti region, submerging the once-thriving lakeside resort town under 33 feet of water.

For more than two decades, its streets and structures were preserved in underwater silence, only emerging from obscurity in the early 2000s, when the waters surrounding it began to recede.

 ჭიათურის პიონერთა სასახლე აშენდა მე-20 საუკუნის 60-იანი წლების დასაწყისში. არქიტექტორ ჩხეიძის სტანდარტული პროექტის მიხედვით. სულ საქართველოს ტერიტორიაზე 3 ესეთი შენობა იყო. ერთი ჭიათურაში, მეორე ტყიბულში და მესამე ტყვარჩელში. შენობაში ტარდებოდა სამეცნიერო და სამხატვრო წრეები. ტარდებოდა უამრავი ღონისძიებები და იყო მოწყობილი მუზეუმიც. შენობა 2007 წლამდე ფუნქციონირებდა, რის შემდეგ იგი სრულიად მიატოვეს. დროთა განმავლობაში იგი გაიძარცვა და ბუნებრივი მოვლენების ზემოქმედების შემდეგ დაზიანდა და გახდა ავარიული. 2014 წელს დაიწყო შენობის დემონტაჟი, რომელიც შეჩერებულ იქნა სამოქალაქო აქტივისტების მიერ. დღესდღეობით შენობის მცირე ნაწილია შემონახული, კერძოდ კოლონადა და პირველი სართულის ვესტიბიული. Pioneer Castle in Chiatura was built in first part of the 60s by a known Georgian Architect Chxeidze. In entirety of Georgia we can only find 3 similar buildings. They only exist in Chiatura, Tkhibuli and in Tkhvarcheli. The Pioneer castle hosted medical and art classes. It could also be considered as an event hall and also housed a museum. The building was functional till 2007, after which it was completely abandoned. As time passed, the Pioneer Castle was robbed. Due to having no repairs in a long time the building is now crumbling. In 2014 the building was going to be demolished, but civilian activists stopped the demolition. Today only a small part of the building remains. All that is left is the front pillars and parts of the first floor.
