Compilation of Craft Essays
A compilation of stories about their journey towards being a creative writter.
Writing is a basic need of people in learning. In writing, we will be able to express and write things we can never express pr say through our words. We can write things we feel that we cannot tell other people in life, because a paper or any writing materials will never judge us on what we say and write using them. They are just like listening to whatever we write using the. They are just like the audiences that doesn’t have the right to change what is already written. Writing can make us feel free, that no one can do everything to stop us from expressing ourselves.
I made a story on Wattpad before, but I never publish it. Writing for me was a hobby, it gave me the peace that I could never have by just studying and studying. Writing made me realize to try new things FB
FB that I will be able to express myself without the judgement of other people. This is where I found the comfort that no one will be able to give it. This is a hobby where there is no judgement.
To conclude, in writing, there are a lot of times that will make you give up on it because of how tired you are that made you crave for that feeling, that one day, a person will be able to hear you and understand you without getting judgement from that person. That they are willing to help you grow and be the best version of yourself. Writing will help us grow and learn other things in our lives. It helps people realize how expressing ourselves and being able to act as us is important in our lives. This is what is so great about writing.
My journey in writing
I've always been an avid reader, especially once I began to enter my adolescence. Around the age of 7, I started pestering my grandmother to let me buy books at our school's book fairs all while consuming her collection of encyclopedias at home. This was the time my love for reading really came to fruition. I was so thoroughly engrossed in them because I was fascinated with random facts. I began reading e-books when I was 10 years old. I started trying my hand at writing my own stories after being inspired by the works of some of my favorite online authors. Looking back at them now, they look so horribly written— However, shockingly, they aren’t awful for someone writing at the ripe age of 10.
I soon discovered that I had a little aptitude for it— not by an impressive lot, but I did have something. Creating my own characters, crafting their plot lines, and constructing their narratives became something I enjoyed doing. I later met people who shared my interests and grew even more enamored with the craft. It complimented my love for arts, being able to draw and write the characters I make. Shortly after, I discovered Sylvia Plath and soon found myself casually dabbling in poetry in my leisure time. Poetry is harder to compose, but it taught me how to articulate my emotions in a way that makes them seem beautiful, regardless of how unpleasant they may be. This helped me cope by convincing myself my emotions aren't as atrocious as they appear when interpreted carefully.
That's all the personal writing I've been doing lately. I haven't written anything longer than a few chapters in the past two years; perhaps I've outgrown the hobby. These days, I’m simply an avid reader of selected authors I’m fond of—notable ones being Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (MXTX), Priest, Meatbun/Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou, Please Don’t Laugh (PDL) and more. Writing was an outlet for me, so much that I hope to regain my love for the craft soon again. But for now, reading will be my source of fulfillment.
Being a writer is not easy as it sounds, because if you are the kind of person that prefers reading books instead of being the author of the book, but mostly the writer was a reader and there are tons of books they have read. They’re also familiar with different genre because of the books they’ve read. The question is what are the things that inspire them to become a writer, when their desire is to become a reader. Because first and fore most, it is difficult to become an author, especially if you’re that kind of person that lacks different ideas and also a person unmotivated to write a story that you’re not completely sure of you’re going to finish it.
I was in a class and there was a discussion about how to construct a simple essay, and suddenly my teacher asked our opinions about it. Then we conducted a recitation shortly while they were giving their own opinion. I was doing my own thing, which was reading a book. I thought that time I was not being called in front of the class to recite, and I was stunned to speak, and it came out of my mouth was “By using a I-B-C format.” That time I was lost until I messed up the situation. After that class. I’ll find myself constructing an essay on my own and trying different writing style to develop more of the things I know. Then, while I was in the same class that I was called to recite in, I realized that I enjoyed writing even though I didn’t know if I was going to finish the story I started writing. And I always thought to myself, that I am married to what I am doing right now, which in writing. Being a writer, a lot of things are needed to be considered, in terms of genre you’re going to use and many more. But one day, I came up with a decision that I should pursue this as my companion in life besides reading a book, which is my first love. There is a saying that first love never dies, which I agree with, because reading a book has been my companion through the years and I look forward also writing to become one. I don’t want to choose between the two of them, and I don’t want to choose from the things I see myself becoming mature one compared to the other one. I’m that person when it comes to the things that make me better and become happy. I’ll invest in that as a reader and a writer. It is totally collaboration of my own self because after reading a book that I’ll totally find myself attached to I’ve become shark in the ocean, when they smell blood they totally find it quickly where it is coming from similarly. When I come up with different ideas, I am totally smashing the keyboard because I might forget it quickly, and while typing it I do it without assurance that I am going to succeed or finish it. Similar to the shark there is also no assurance if they will comeback or if it’s a trap to catch them by an illegal fisherman.
All the writers out there and working to become one, I want to salute all of them and keep this kind of event in our lives, we admit that it is difficult to enter into this kind of career, even if you question to your own existence in this world. But its not a hindrance to achieve what we really desire. Because personally, until now I’ve been working on myself as a writer, because this is not the end of journey, but it is the first part of it. To become a better individual and more mature one in the future.
In this journey of my life, you will see a lot of struggles, challenges and how I became a creative writer. It’s great because now I can express my thoughts and how I overcame obstacles on my path. People will be inspired to write about their writing path if they have this. Therefore, don’t be shy about showcasing your abilities. We began at the bottom as well, yet here we are now, winning the prize of our dreams.
It all began when I was a little child, a child who is incredibly clumsy and has no idea what to do. Some library books slipped from my head one day. Because it aches, I was irritated and enraged at the moment. But I was drawn to the book that had fallen off. I was enamored with it after reading it all day. I started making up some of the stories I could think of and making notes on how to make them better. I once wrote a complete story, and I was so impressed by it that I decided to start writing everyday so that others may read it and enjoy it. I started participating in competitions and several medals and certificates till someone approached me and said they wanted me to join their team. I published my own book one day, and I’m proud of things I’ve accomplished and the things I’ve written.
If you have a strong and imaginative imagination, writing stories is not too difficult. Since I love to, we both my hands and my thoughts to complete anything, it is both enjoyable and exhausting I want to shore this with you because I want you to be motivated to do the things you are capable of doing, to never give up and most importantly, to take pleasure in what to do.
My journey in writing
As pretentious as it may seem, I write whatever comes to me with a subject or topic in mind. As a
writer, I have generally strived to have at least one aim in mind and that is to get as near to what I have been imagining on the final paper as conceivable. Writing allows me to be honest and organize my thoughts as I absorb my own ideas. It is a time when I can be myself and enjoy every second. Some of my works, I presume, would include bits of me, and as a reader, one may genuinely get to know me personally. With time, I have discovered that if I do not overthink the contents of my work while writing them, it is a lot simpler for me to finish them, so I typically free write my own thoughts and then read them.
I believe that writing is vital for me since it allows me to release stress and enthusiasm in a happy and productive manner. It astounds me that when writing and words are united, they can have such an influence on both the reader and the author. I
have also discovered that a lot of my work, and future works, would and is a projection of my prior experiences and represents who I am as a genuine person. Of course, I draw inspiration from other works, and I am particularly drawn to poetries because the words have the potential to have a powerful influence on the reader, and it forces me to ponder what the true meaning of the words is, which I find fascinating. In addition, I would like others to criticize my works because I know that criticism strengthens my writing, and it's difficult to enhance it without it. I feel that nearly every writer aspires to have their work critiqued, since how can their work be the greatest version it can be if no one criticizes it?
The confidence I have acquired in the process of creating pieces of work has improved my attitude toward reading and writing, and it will continue to do so as I pursue my professional objectives. If one can retain a good mindset, writing may be enjoyable. With this in my mind, I can be able to develop the way that I write, establishing my own beliefs and ideals. My writing method and approaches to a superb paper did not include a rough sketch and then a final version, but rather several drafts to achieve perfection. As a direct consequence, I will continue to read and write in order to pursue and make sure to write the great written works for my future readers to appreciate and be inspired by.
I told myself this year I would learn a new talent. I’m going to teach how to write with intention. My objective is to figure out how to communicate clearly. I will not write weak sentences instead I will create powerful one’s. Other people’s writing is amazing to me, I wish that I write impressively. Most importantly, I want to compose lines that will make me proud to have written them. Everyone nowadays is a writer. But I think I need to practice and practice so that I can trully obtain the perfect writing
Reading has always been my escape. It became part of me especially when the pandemic happened. It became my support to continue with life when everything was telling with my mental health. I have a love - and - hate relationship with it. I will love it as it teaches me things and I hate it when someone from the story dies.
Upon reading, writing also became my coping mechanism. Asking for help was never my thing but when in need of comfort. I go on my notes to release my emotion. I’ll cry while writing, I’ll write if I’m happy and I’ll write when I’m bored. With these hobbies. I wanted to write a story. I wanted to tell people how I feel through my stories. There became my steppingstones to becoming a creative writer. Now whenever I see people, I think of them as extra character in my story and a protagonist on their own stories. This led me in thinking that we all have our stories to tell, we all have challenges to face, and we all have sacrifices to make.
At the age of ten my love for writing is at its top. Writing happy ending stories is my genre at this time, but I didn’t know that it will slowly fade as I grow older. At my 7th grade I finished 2 stories already and I love every bit of each story I wrote. High school came and forced to write again with creative juices needed to be more extracted. English subject became broader. Whole high school life is not focused in writing not until in 10th grade where there was a activity that is we were instructed to write a essay about objects we see in a classroom. That activity boosted my writing era again because I think in activities like that also leads me with my reflections. Senior high is a beast for it pushed me from my limits. Senior change me with my genres, from happy love stories to dark ones, which the young me would never expect.
The present me would always cry because she thinks everything, she writes doesn’t make sense. She thinks every work is just bare minimum the new me wants to express more. Indeed, being a writer is hard.
When I was still a kid, I loved to write some stories that were very interesting, and after I wrote a story, I shared it with my cousins, and we would direct it like a movie. I always read in every story that there are interesting plots and very interesting characters. When I was a kid, I always wrote some stories that could be played by my cousins. I always wrote some stories that were about our college life even though we were still in elementary school at that time. After writing a lot of random stories, I realized that I could apply that experience to my subject right now in senior high school, which is creative writing.
One thing I love about writing is that you are free to say anything, to direct everything. You can make your own story that comes to your heart. It is good if you write stories that you love. Like when I was a kid, I always loved to write stories to my cousins about our future jobs, what we are going to be in the future, what we are going to do in the future. I also love to write stories that are very interesting to them, like some stories from Wattpad. Additionally, I love writing stories because you can be anyone. You can be a superhero. You can be your future job that you want and more in writing stories Furthermore, when you write, you can make up your future. You can be anyone. As I previously stated, writing makes you realize a lot of things. It makes you more real and find your real self just by writing some stories that are coming from your heart. Today, in my teenage days, I can write some stories that are more interesting and more beautiful because I learned some different kinds of ways to write.
I will never regret choosing to do creative writing because it allows me to write stories that help me realize and know more about myself. It shows me the path that I need to drive on and gives me a way to find myself at every meeting. It also gives joy to yourself because you can express all the things that you want to say and do in your life just by writing.
I was in elementary school, clueless when my adviser approached me to talk about the essay I wrote yesterday. It was about a political matter in history class, written in the perspective of basically a pupil who should not have any understanding of the political issue. From her feedback, I realized I could write and combine ideas into a piece of paper. In classes after that, when they asked who I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was the most different of all. The kids wanted ‘bigger’ dreams and to become a scientist, engineers, doctors, or famous actors. Mine? I wanted to become a writer.
Writing in cursive, I thought, was the hardest aspect of writing. Little did I know that my idea’s positionality would drive me into pieces and places only I could envision. I remember every visit to National Bookstore (which they apparently call Nash nowadays), and it wasn’t the colorful stationery that I was enticed by but the thick pages of books which titles I didn’t even understand. I read, read, and tried to read. I assimilated the variations of authors’ words and appreciated the flow of every vowel meticulously crafted. I don’t remember it vividly, but I remember exploring the different literary devices in high school and how I appreciated different forms of its application. The basics were metaphor and simile; no matter how basic they may seem; they were my default when creatively writing. When I took an interest in poetry, I learned what an iambic parameter is and tried to exploit it in one of my attempts in writing a poem. For me, poetry has become my distinctive voice as an aspiring poet. High school is when someone’s life is the most chaotic, destructive, and blatantly incapacitating. There were days when my notebook was nothing but a dark chapter of scattered poems vandalized in the margins of the paper. I referenced lyrics and reference lines from a film. The genre, unsurprisingly, was melodramatic in nature and tone. But thank goodness did I write because it became an avenue for me to internalize my thoughts and comfort myself from the dark thoughts that invaded my head. High school is miserable, but it is also the time I slowly find my identity, especially when I entered the academic track HUMSS. From what I told my teachers in elementary school, I now found a better answer. As I explored more writing poems and writing fiction stories on different writing platforms, I suddenly fell in love with writing. The detailing, outlining, and brainstorming all happening at the same time energized me to finish a piece under a timed deadline. I now understand why there are ski jumpers, hikers, and racers because the electrifying feeling of adrenaline while writing makes you realize you are alive. I am alive.
I wrote, as a child, the fiction of love I hope to feel someday and the unicorns I hope to meet one day. But now, as a stronger and wiser writer who experienced a lot in life at such a young age, I can take advantage of the beauty of onomatopoeia and form a literary masterpiece written in my own fingerprint. I can write realities and the realities that I imagined. Who would have thought that writing is more powerful than a sword? Who would have thought writing could save lives, just like a doctor? Who would have thought a writer could build sentence structures more safely than an engineer? Who would have thought that I would find solace in writing in cursive?
In order to communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that is unique to you, creative writing requires you to use your imagination and creativity. Simply said, it is bringing your own flair to writing and straying from the conventions of academic or other specialized types of literature.
My journey towards becoming a creative writer is still in process. I am not creative and imaginative yet; I feel the progress every time I write. I do bring my own flair, making my own stories, being a creative writer is hard and it requires a lot of thinking and logic.
To summarize or to conclude, to be a better writer we must have a large amount of creative imagination. We all have different and unique imagination; everyone can be a creative writer.
According to widely held view, creative writing is all about utilizing one's imagination and creativity to convey ideas and thoughts in a way that is unique to an individual. All my life I never thought that the thing I do in life, such as writing is already a form of creative writing. At first, it just became a hobby of mine, and never have I thought of pursuing it and becoming a legitimate writer. For most people, creative writing became a way or part of their lives while for others it is their way of living. In my case, creative writing helped me enhance my skill and made me wed my full potential in writing. My character had been developed throughout my journey.
I remember when I was just starting, I was fully satisfied with my works such as the fictions I wrote, not until I decided to read other people's works only to get inspiration. I saw how other's works are so much better than mine. Their works were well written and broader. That's when I realized that I must work hard to make an improvement to the skill that I already have. At first, it was a struggle. I even got insecure and pressured from my work because my vocabulary is limited and I am not very good when it comes to grammar. But it is true that the more passionate and dedicated you are to your work, you'll improve so much more. In addition, being hard on myself made me boost my full potential, though it is not recommended to do. Things must be kept slowly and steady to get to the path you are striving for. Every day I noticed the progress I made, comparing my previous works from my current works, but as I improve, other people improve as well. Which makes me try to work harder and to get to surpass my current skill. Through my journey, a lot of people ask me if does writing stress me out. My answer stays no since I consider writing as my stress reliever. The way I write and got to express my feelings make me feel light and better.
I may say, my journey in writing does not end here. There are still a lot of things I need to work on. As I live, I believe that there is always an improvement that can be made. Not just in my writing but also within myself. Simply, writing make me boot my full potential not just as a writer but also as a person. Through there are ups and downs, it became my stepping stone to stand where I am right now.
My feeling for writing began in grade four. My teacher told the class we can write any story on our class computers. Any nonsensical spiel our nine-year-old brains were able to come up with can be printed and read by others. What started as one story quickly developed into more. Each month I printed a new story and when we could present them, I always did. Wanting to share each tale I wrote.
I stopped writing in grade six. In grade seven, rather than writing I read. Each week I would pick up a different book. Genre didn’t matter as long as it seemed interesting. If I couldn’t get a new book for that week then I would read online. I spent hours getting lost in the words and pages.
I was thirteen when my love for writing came back, I was so inspired, I wrote down ideas for my stories. That year a writing competition was held. My friend and I were the ones chosen for our section. We didn’t follow some of the limits, so I didn’t think we’d win. Time came to announce the winners. To my surprise we won first place.
My feelings for writing carried into grade nine, but as it became grade ten I stopped. I couldn’t complete a story. Always abandoning it after a few chapters. I felt unmotivated and tired. By grade eleven the last time I wrote a story was over a year ago at that point. School work was more important and exhausting. I didn’t have energy anymore.
Now at seventeen and in grade twelve, my feelings have changed slightly. The most I write now are short stories or small tidbits. Even so, it is still progress. My imagination still runs wild even with no paper or pen to write my thoughts down. I may not have the same passion as I did at nine, but my attachment to writing always remains.
