He couldn’t think of anything that changed that could affect her mood. She still lived at the bunker, they’d had a pancake breakfast a few days ago. Everyone went to the bar last week, where Sam met an intelligent and nice woman who he’d had a surprisingly good conversation with. Her name was Angela and he’d seen her a time or two since then. Having a home base made it feel like it was now possible for him to at least go on some dates. In fact he had one lined up with Angela for tonight that he was looking forward to. Everything seemed okay and normal. More normal than he’d had in a while. So what was bothering her?

A car went by as the moon shined down. When the tail lights from it stopped making the road behind it red we crossed the street and paused. I wrapped my arms around him knowing more than a hug was in store. I felt each one of my fingers individually press into his back, not letting him go. Not a second was wasted when all the cold around us disappeared and it was just me and him. Alone and warm, close in each other’s arms. When his head dipped lower to my neck I wasn’t scared like the last time. I welcomed him as the seconds passed letting my head roll back. As all the panic left me I realized I didn’t want it to end. By it I mean everything. Was this going to be the last time this happened? Will I ever be alone with him again? Will we ever kiss again? Will I ever SEE him again? When I heard him moan I decided to worry about it later.
