When I started this paining a few weeks ago all I was really thinking about was climate change and mass extinction. I was thinking about the kind of world we will leave our kids. And now the West Coast is on fire. Oregon has joined the fire club with California and Washington. Places I love are gone, people have lost everything many of them, and they are starting to find casualties. It’s hard to finish this painting, I’ve spent too much time just staring at it wanting to cry. So I’m writing this to try to get myself going again.
