my urge to organise my workload for the new semester vs. my lecturers' understandable need for more time to finish their syllabus: fight
Over a month ago, I submitted my final thesis for my English degree, and the exams for my teaching degree are also over now, so I have a whole week of no academic work ahead of me before classes start up again!

funnily enough, sometimes i feel like the more i study the less prepared i feel because i’m just discovering more information that i didn’t know before. today is definitely one of those day. i think i just need to finish my practice problems and then be at peace with it! excited to get through tomorrow hehe. i have to do 3 things i’ve been dreading (take an exam, do a work video call, and go to the dentist), but a hard tuesday will make wednesday all the better! hope you are having a good start to your week! if not, take it easy, tomorrow is a new day :)

a bit more than one week and we’re done with the first summer semester! i’ve got so much stuff planned for summer 2 even though i have classes but i’m so excited :> i hope i pass this class though, praying for the curve
10 July 2020 | About one month into my summer break and I’m still thoroughly enjoying all of the literature that’s been on the back burner through the semester. Despite having loved reading since I was four years old, I had never ventured into some classic authors until the past couple of years—case in point, my first Dickens was A Tale of Two Citites earlier this year! There’s a bit of me that wants to feel ashamed of this, but simultaneously I’m rather happy that I still have so many ‘discoveries’ to make in my mid-twenties and beyond.

So I’m finding Lockdown 2.0 harder than I thought I would. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to stay safe at home but am finding myself wasting my time on pointless activities throughout the day. It’s like my brain has decided because I can’t go anywhere/see any friends I may as well just stay in bed and do nothing. At least I’m recognising this mindset though so hopefully can address it. I think I need to start my mindful habits again (walking more, listening to light-hearted podcasts, reading more) as they really helped me in the last lockdown. I hope everyone is staying safe and looking after their mental health, if anyone wants to chat my inbox is always open💕✨

April 5, 2020: First post in forever! I am slowing getting used to working from home. I’ve been journaling a lot lately, and have found it is a great way to help manage my the anxiety and uncertainty I’ve been feeling lately.
