I’m so excited to share this with you guys— this piece is the beginning of a series about goddesses from various mythologies across the globe! . 🌏 . Ancient art history has always been my jam, and that interest has often been focused on the Minoan culture. These pre-ancient Greek people are still somewhat of a mystery to us, but we have clues that their way of life was very different from most patriarchal societies. Historians have found a lack of weaponry, and fortification walls, implying a more peaceful existence. There were also many depictions if possible female deities, such as the Snake Goddess (my gal here!) . 🐍 . And for those who are wanting to be offended by the boobs: this was the traditional dress of the Minoan people. It’s art, it’s history . 🤷‍♀️ . What Goddess would you like for me to illustrate next?
