Island in the Sun || Luna & Kirk
Approximately 10,000 miles later, Kirk still couldn’t find much to do but go around skateboarding. Australia was, undoubtedly, home for many activities that could keep the boy busy – but he found that the majority of those activities would only be enjoyable if they were with someone else. And, considering his roommates had decided to sleep in (well, was it much ‘sleeping in’ as it was actually just sleeping? Kirk woke up at around five a.m. this morning – it was around six a.m. already), he had the morning to spend in solitude. Everything in the morning air was colored a deep lavender, streetlamps lighting up the boardwalk that he skated across countless times. Lining the boardwalk was a number of shops, mostly filled with novelties and souvenirs that he had already binge-bought on his first day on the trip. He bit his lip, passing by one in particular that was playing some reggaeton; the outside display was a number of island musical instruments. Hell, if buying a ukulele would keep him entertained until –
Wait, what was that? Something silver shone in the corner of Kirk’s eye. His gaze averted from the arrangement of instruments to a little, grey piece of jewelry that stuck out in between the sand. He stopped in his tracks and kicked his skateboard up, jogging to pick up the silver trinket as he clipped his skateboard back onto his backpack. “Huh,” he muttered, picking it up and examining it up close. It was a small necklace with a moon pendant, a unique and gorgeous piece of possibly expensive jewelry. Kirk’s eyes traveled around the boardwalk in hopes to find the owner of it. His eyes followed the straight path from where the necklace might have fallen and landed on a blonde that was in the midst of walking away.
“Hey, miss!” he called out, running after her. “I think you mighta dropped this,” he said, tapping her gently on the shoulder with one hand, holding up the necklace with the other.
