Something those YouTube video essayists need to realize is a majority of people are not like the ones you see on TikTok. They're always talking about how kids can't read and kids are crazier than they've ever been but if you just go outside you'll see a majority of kids are just... normal kids. I very rarely see a child in public with their eyes glued to an iPad.

I feel so illiterate sometimes. Like unless it's fanfiction I low-key take so long to read it. I know textbooks don't really count cause they're supposed to be boring and annoying to read but even books that I really want to read like anything from Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Edgar Allan Poe,or like Ann Rice's Interview With a Vampire. I try to read it but I give up 10 pages in because there's so many words I don't know and the grammar is unusual to me and I'm constantly having to look up words and then I forget their meaning and then I have to like ultra focus and then I completely lose the meaning. Not to mention anytime when I read my eyes wander all over the page and I lose my focus and read words that are like in the next sentence in the sentence I'm trying to read and then I'll get jumbled and is annoying anyway.

BIGGEST pet peeve is when people misuse ‘lightning’ and ‘thunder’
