and like, youve went to the olympics in 2022, but... we know how that went for everyone. you made top ten and that was almost enough for you. until people started talking shit about you. your country. your concentration. but now youre back and aiming for top 5. and somehow, despite the decipline youve built up, it was.... jarred by a russian-american youd been acquainted with for years.

and the way it starts is kinda iffy. unsure. all you (and i) know is that you end up as a little sneaky link situationship. gotta make use of those complimentary condoms, right? and you know what, it actually helps you get your head right, destress. the same cant really be said for him.

and like, youre actually pretty chilled out for your routine and youre excited and honestly, youre glowing. but like... how could you not when you've got ilia malinin kissing all up on you behind closed doors, walking around the village avoiding the media like a secret couple.

but then, you remember youre not a couple. and you remind yourself it's not serious (even if you really want it to be) because he's out clubbing with beautiful italian girls the same night as your event.

but you've matured. maybe if this had happened a few years ago, this would have ruined you. maybe you would have let it ruin your comp. but not anymore. you sleep fine. if anything, you might even let it drive you. he made his opinion of your situationship very clear and you would respect the hell out of it.

but then, drama ensues. and he's...apologizing? he knew you had to have seen it and he feels bad for missing your routine. but again, you're fine. you dont lie to him. you dont hold anything back. you cant at the olympics, especially when it will show in your performance.

so, you tell him that you want a relationship with him, but that he doesnt belong to you. you dont blame him for going out, you could never. you dont get upset. you just lay it all out. no tears, just furrowed brows and heavy sighs and longing looks. but you guys agree. for the sake of the competition, you can't keep seeing eachother.

but then he does his free skate. and good god... you feel so bad for him. you could see it on his face before he fell the first time. and somehow, it leads back to him in your room that night. a stress reliever.

and in the midsts of him kissing you so deeply that your souls ache for one another, he tells you between breathless kisses that he needs you. he tells you that he doesn't want to hide you. he tells you that he wants something as mundane as to hold hands in public. and he only wants to hear you say his name. because you manage to say it the way its meant to be said.
