It happened just before my karate world championship. ๐ฅ Only 3 months were left for the tournament. ๐ And I got myself injured. ๐ค My training stopped ๐ซ and I started to fall behind. ๐
My dream of representing my country ๐ฎ๐ณ didnโt seem to be fulfilled. ๐ But, being an athlete, I always bounced back. ๐ช And it didnโt differ this time as well. ๐
In flashback, as a 10-year-old boy ๐ฆ, I started my journey as a Karateka. ๐ฅ Playing Martial arts is not merely a sport to me, itโs an odyssey toward self-discovery. ๐งโโ๏ธ Training had become an integral part of life. โค๏ธ In 2014, I began participating in local and state-level championships ๐ and excelled every time.
I ranked 1st in Kumite in the 5th KWF Maharashtra State Karate Championship in the category of Under 15 in 2017 ๐ฅ, and in 2018 I won KWF Indiaโs 1st Mumbai & District Karate Championship. ๐ฅ In 2023, I also came 1st in the โKumiteโ BUJUTSU Maharashtra State Inter-Dojo Karate Championship. ๐ฅ
Eventually, the time came to represent my country internationally โ๏ธ, but obstacles came too in the form of injury. ๐ค Though I had to wait till I was in the form to train myself again, I didnโt stop going to my martial arts training center and used to watch other athletesโ training. ๐
Coming back to where I left. One month before the championship, I returned to my training. ๐ช I participated in the KWF World Championship 2023 in Japan. ๐ฏ๐ต I played till the semi-final. ๐ I can say that I never felt prouder in my life when representing my country on foreign soil. ๐ฎ๐ณโค๏ธ
Because of my passion for sports, I wanted to explore the business aspect of this field as well. ๐ผ That led me to pursue Sports Management at IISM. ๐ Moreover, I aspire to grow as a sports industry expert and contribute to the sports business by developing the grassroots-level sports of India- one of my childhood dreams. โจ
