Under the veils of vespertine charm his gracile silhouette traversed the hallways finally reaching the grandeur of the silent ballroom. Billiions of stars unfurled their miraculous glow in silver traceries all across the sky, reviving the old memories of brilliant evenings spent among the beaumonde once a long ago. Now these walls were empty and no sound of music penetrated the air. Only phantoms still waltzed in the growing darkness, delivering a very uneasy feeling of being observed.

Young noble’s somber voice emerged from complete silence, bringing a mild question to the attention of one hellish servant. Ciel was strangely subdued that evening, even his graceful shadow seemed heavier than ever in the flickering candle light, as if it was in possession of an unspeakable grief. Slowly, almost under constraint, the boy cranes his neck to finally face the butler and glance him in the eye.

It may appear a trifle and most likely it is a trifle, but since Ciel is rather meticulous and gives a credit where credit is due ( not only due to his position as a detective or his aristocratic demeanor, it’s just how he is ), there is plenty of little things which he actually appreciates about Sebastian. Whatever silly or simple they may be.

                   THE  WORDS  COME  OUT       of  the  formerly  perfectly  undisturbed  silence ,  without  even  the  hum  of  a  computer’s  fan  to  fill  the  loneliness  in  the  air  -  in  the  entire  room ,  really ,  considering  the  resounding  lack  of  furniture .   as  a  matter  of  fact ,   besides  the  small  cushion  he  sits  loosely  cross-legged  upon ,  and  the  large ,  three-wick candle ,  lit  and  casting  an  unpredictable ,  quivering  light  throughout  his  space ,  the  space  around  him  is  entirely  DESOLATE .   it’s  a  temporary  location ,  after  all  -   one  he  doesn’t  intend  to  remain  in  for  more  than  a  handful  of  days . 

                    which  begs  the  question  –  how  did  the  other  even  find  him ??   even  moreso ,  how  did  he  let  himself  in  ??
