Why have I not seen a single person talk about that moment in the Witchcraft finale that happens RIGHT as the grace period ends where Tiff is joking with Joey, guard down, lightheartedly going “Time to meet your maker! I’m just kidding.” And she laughs, but then Cleo suddenly just appears out of nowhere, screaming “I’LL BE YOUR MAKER!” In the most terrifying tone of voice I have ever heard her use. There’s just this horrific shattering noise and then Cleo is just there, and they suddenly can’t move because she’s frozen them in time and she’s charging right at them full speed ahead, swords blazing, and like I’m not usually afraid of Cleo. I’ve seen a lot of her content and so I know that 90% of the time she is all bark and no bite, but imagining being in their shoes in this particular moment? It all happened so fast, from her perspective I could barely even see them let alone them seeing her. Girl was giving them ZERO time to prepare, the SECOND she was allowed to attack it was all slaughter, maim, kill. The complete tonal shift of them starting out all relaxed and joking only to move to a very swift panic as they realize “oh shit I can’t move, I can’t use my powers” and they didn’t even see her coming. The way she screamed “I’LL BE YOUR MAKER!” with her FULL chest, putting every last ounce of power behind those words sent literal chills down my spine, I think if I would have been in either Tiff or Joeys shoes I would have simply passed away. Like a’ight imma head out, have fun with the scary lady, see y’all later, I’m going home.
