Akira leaves this little vase of orange flowers for Keisuke, without a word here either -- he just leaves it with a note signed only with his name.
-- Akira.
When he receives these flowers without a single word from the sender, Keisuke cant help but feel somewhat surprised at the gift. Today was... Valentine's Day, or so he's heard; a day for love, platonic or otherwise.
"Akira... These flowers are from... Akira..." He figures it's foolish to imagine there to be some hidden meaning behind these flowers, but even the thought of Akira giving him these as a show of friendship makes his heart beat rapidly. "I just wish I had something to give back."

"Hm... I wonder where it'll hurt the most... Where should I strike, this blade... The neck... Yes, right... I wonder how much blood will ooze out... Hehe, how nice... I'm getting excited."
doot doot i don't know much about your source material but it looks interesting from your rping! so im curious, what would you say is your favorite thing about your series?
Ehehe, thank you, aaa always flattering to hear you evoke ppl's interest ahhdkfkgkgjfdk. But um yeah I find it hard to say just one thing so, I'm gonna say few things instead excuse me. Also noting that I'm talking about the manga rather than anime, it's been too long from when I watched the anime to say anything coherent haha. It was a good adaptation though!
but yeah this got long skfklglgh so under cut:
I've always thought that things don't have to be different to be interesting, it's up to how it's executed in the end. All the characters are not terribly surprising in any manner - it's pretty typical when it comes to the plot, honestly. Even the characters are really typical in certain sense but ah. It's the dialogue and the storytelling that makes it so engaging, I guess? The plot basically develops through the characters but it keeps the flow very well. Pacing of the dialogue and plot all works so well.
Character interaction and character development aND their dynamics in general then, I guess that's it. It's very subtle, especially character development. Like how Masa and Yaichi 'urge each other forward', like the scene well Yaichi's not feeling too good and Masa comes to him and just says the words Yaichi himself used. Really good scene yeah.
Also the dialogue, I don't know how much it loses in translation but despite that it has this very real and natural flow, I guess? Ono has knack writing really good dialogue. It's the way it says it all- idk if it's any 'smarter' or anything, don't care really - it's just really well worded? like how Masa speaks Yaichi with Yagi, let's take an example since I have this up because it's really nice dialogue haha. The guy he's speaking with is Yagi - the superintendent in Machikata that is the municipal police force, consisting lower ranking officers, isn't really important to mention but I said it anyway. The flow isn't very visible without the panels tho haha.... They were talking about if Masa wanted to become a retainer again and Yagi asked him about his goals etc.
M: There is a man who is smaller than I am He only comes up to my shoulders and yet I feel he is much larger man that I am.
Today, once again I was given cause to witness how great this man's poise is. And once again I was made aware how far I have yet to go.
Y: Then, is your goal to become like this man?
M: ....
Not exactly. However he possesses some qualities I envy
YeAH OKAY, idk, i just like that part a lot, idk. There's also the conversation Masa has with Matsu and many others eh.
Yeah, idk, it doesn't feel forced I guess and ....what do you call it dammit, um, panel composition? It's part of the pacing I suppose yeah.

"…" Here goes Akira, there he goes, he’s leaving but kind of dragging Rin along for the most part.
Apparently, pick up lines just makes a man go. There he goes, he`s gone, but Rin is still hanging onto his arm.
"Come on, don`t I tickle your funny bone at all? Cause you strike my fancy."
He winked at him before gently flicking the dog tag that was still on his neck. Honestly, this didn`t feel like too much of a change from Toshima at all. He was still teasing Akira, except he was actually meaning it this time. Blasphemy!
