I like the idea that after Uther died, Ygraine and 'Morgause' lived in a castle which is basically another variant of the castle of the Grail. So she kind of becomes its keeper, even hiring a magician to put enchantments around the castle to trial the knights. It's either she acquired the role through her new marriage, or through her possible ancestry of Joseph of Arimaphea who brought the Grail to Britain.
(And Arthuriana being Arthuriana, Gawaine started fighting for the hand of his sister not knowing she was his sister 😶)
Who was Igraine favourite?
She loved all her daughters equally.
She would not have loved Arthur, even if she'd been allowed to see him grow up. Horrible mirror to how it can go with Morgan and Ywain.
Your heart's a vine that I've bled trying to climb Yeah, you're making a ruin of me Try to survive, keep my spirit alive But like a knife in the woods Yeah, you hunt down the good in me -The Good In Me
Have some cult brainwashing situationship symbolism, as a treat. Is this what the kids call "toxic yuri"?

When Nimueh is gone, her deed by the Holy Cup is reversed – and Ygraine comes back
When there's a Norse version of Monmouth's HRB called the Breta sögur (specifically AM 573), and you're given a punch in the gut.
I mean, Igraine feeling heartbroken over the death of her husband Gorlois and refusing to be with Uther, and Uther having to resort to magic so that Igraine's memories are erased, courtesy of Merlin?
Break my heart why don't you... 😭
