Some of the music included in Shuichi’s playlist were OSTs of some of his favorite video game series, like Legend of Zelda. One day, he had came across a cover of one of his favorite OSTs. He usually did not listen to covers, but decided to give this one a try. He ended up liking it instantly, which in turn made Shuichi listen to some of the other songs the Ultimate Video Game Musician has done. He was truly impressed by how great his works were, and while he hasn’t personally met him before, he knows he’s a student at this school. He wondered if he would ever cross paths with him, as he would be happy to tell him how much he likes his covers.

Then one day, when he went down to the cafeteria to buy himself some yakisoba bread, he noticed a boy in a wheelchair, by himself at one of the emptier areas of the room. “...!”  Realizing that he looks just like the boy in the videos, his eyes widened. (”Ah. That must be him...!”) Now was his chance to tell him, he thought to himself. Shy as he was about approaching, he didn’t know the next time he would get this chance. And so, with a soft exhale, he makes his way over to his table.

“H... Hello, um...” He begins. “I’m sorry to bother you, but are you, by chance... the Ultimate Video Game Musician? You see, I have listened to a few of your cover songs before, including one from one of my favorite game series Legend of Zelda a-and I just wanted to say that ah...” His eyes shyly dart down to the floor. “I really enjoyed them! You captured the tone of the original OST perfectly with the instrument you used. And I wanted to meet you to um.... tell you that. I-If that’s okay....!”

There was something comforting about inns. The warm atmosphere, the scent of a homecooked meal, the light chatter of the folks who were resting after long hours of work...

It was nostalgic in a way.

The empress sat alone near the fire, a glass filled with crimson wine delicately held in her fingers.

Unfamiliar tunes reached her ears, prompting her to look away from the blazing embers to the maestro. A bard, and one she hadn't had the pleasure of acquainting herself with.

Rising from her seat, she walked closer to the bard, observing with a smile as he played. She waited until he finished to finally speak.

“Heading back home already?”

“I didn’t even get to give you a tip,” Sevren teased.

His own trip to the inn was brief, as he hasn’t visited this location before. But the sands of time had drawn him to this place, to someone here.

Could this be the person? Time will tell.

“After all!”

A small smile rose up on the girls lips. She wasn’t sure what to expect after last night. It had been quite the mess, but thankfully he seemed to be fine. 

“You have nothing to thank for really. I just happened to be by there and all. Besides, the situation was quite difficult from what i could tell.” As his gaze lowered, she did pay attention to it. Was he perhaps shy or was it because what she had seen last night? Either way, he had seen him around a few times, but hadn’t ever approached to interact before. He did seem nice enough though.

“Oh? You sure? Well, if you don’t mind, but i don’t wanna intrude and all.” She had caught the lingering scent of the cookies as he had opened the door for her, but the fact that he had especially made them for her, had caught her off guard.

       to be judge before being met. it was a battle that she faced on a lot of times on her own. today though, things were a little different. she was settled alone - which already was a little weird. she was digging her nail into the side of  her thumb as her mind was somewhere else - somewhere where the negativity brewed. 

‘Tell me what do you see?’  the demon girl mumbled out. Yes, I've lost my mind.  

‘_____   looking at me Will I ever be free? Have I crossed the line?’    

her thoughts were slipping out that she didn’t see who was there, listening in. her nail was digging into her skin forcing a cut to form and a soft patch of blood to pool out, but her absent mind didn’t pay attention to the small little details of the pain that throbbed from her hand - till she jumped right up at the sound of someone there.
