The city was heavily bombed during WWII, reducing much of the centre to rubble. This explains why, unlike the other provincial cities in the Abruzzo region, Pescara lacks a medieval centre. However, it's a lively place with an animated seafront, especially in summer when many tourists come for the 16km of sandy beaches. In addition, Pescara is full of fresh-from-the-sea Adriatic seafood restaurants, so it might be a good idea to arrive with a near-empty stomach. Moreover, Pescara makes a good base for short trips to atmospheric medieval villages in the province like Loreto Aprutino, Atri, Città Sant'Angelo and Penne. The appealing city of Chieti isn't that far away, either. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Pescara can be reached by Regional train from Rome, Ancona and Termoli. High-speed trains from Lecce, Bari, Bologna and Milan also call at Pescara. ______________________________________ #Pescara #Ig_Pescara #IgersPescara #Abruzzo #YourAbruzzo #IgersAbruzzo #IgAbruzzo #Italia #Italy #ThePrettyCities #Beachfront #NatGeoTravel #Seascape #Italygram #AbruzzoDelleMeraviglie #Abruzzo_In_Foto #BrowsingItaly #Ig_Italy #VolgoAbruzzo #VolgoItalia #Italy_InUnoScatto #Italy_Illife #JustGoShoot #Italy_PhotoLovers #BestInTravel #InstaGood #InstaPicOfTheDay #InstaLike #Ig_Travel #PassionPassport (at Pescara, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHc3ST6lupV/?igshid=u093tqvc8k7
