Your "Lead Magnet" Checklist One of the best ways to #generate leads for your #online business is to create what’s called a “lead magnet.” Basically, this can be anything your prospective customer finds valuable. It can be a video, a special report, an infographic, a chart, a template, etc. Regardless of what form it takes, make sure you follow this simple checklist to ensure you end up with a great lead magnet.   Your “lead magnet” Checklist: 1) Does It Grab Attention?  Make sure your lead magnet has an attention-grabbing title or headline that conveys how it will benefit your prospective customer. And make sure you have an image that looks great (whether it’s a report cover, video still, etc).  2) Is It Polarizing?  It’s a common mistake for business owners to want to appeal to everyone. This is counterintuitive, but your lead magnet should actually be polarizing - it will ONLY attract and be of interest to your best and ideal prospects and nobody else.  By focusing your efforts on a smaller but targeted audience, you get BETTER results than if you try to be everything to everyone.  3) Is It Immediately Gratifying?  You got your prospective customer’s attention and got them to take action and get your lead magnet. Now you better deliver. Make sure your lead magnet delivers right away on its promise and gives the reader/viewer instant #gratification - don’t make them “work” to try and find the thing you promised. 4) Is it Easily Consumable?  Similar to point number 3, you want your lead #magnet to be short, sweet, and easy to digest. So if it’s a video, keep it short and to the point. If it’s a report, make it short or even consider making it a simple 1 -2 page guide that gives the key information needed to take action or improve something. Of course, these are just guidelines and there may be times when you want to “break the rules." But if you’re just starting out, I recommend you follow this #checklist first. Then, once you’re up and running and have some success under your belt, you can start experimenting.
