Boasting the Archaeological Park – a UNESCO World Heritage site – as well as not one Duomo but two, Brescia is undoubtedly one of northern Italy's best-kept secrets. Magnificent squares like Piazza della Loggia, similar to a Venetian salon, and historical landmarks such as the Torre dell'Orologio (Clock Tower), a wonder of technology and art, will keep you more than busy. And you can enjoy it all within the setting of remarkable Renaissance architecture: the icing on Brescia's delicious cake. Here's a snapshot of the 'Torre della Pallata' (Pallata Tower), a 32-metre-high 13th-century tower located on Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi in the heart of the city.
