This is my favorite room. My favorite window. A favorite moment. I've thought of this moment for 10 years. . Waiting always teaches you something precious & this house has taught me once again how God hears us. . I wonder if my favorite part about prayer in the Bible will even surprise you? #ifyoureallyknewme . But it talks about being so pushy in your prayers that you are like a neighbor that won't go away. (Luke 11) . Pushiness is in my nature. Waiting is not. So I have been pushy in the only place I had any control over.... talking to God. . I remember this one time Aydan came into the kitchen while I was making lunch. . "Can I have a cookie?" . "Um, sorry we don't have any cookies girly," I said. . "You could make cookies and then give me one," she quickly responded. . She was right. . I could. She knew I could. I might not. She knew that too. . I think that's how we are suppose to pray. KNOWING that God could. I mean, what's a house? A business? A car? To God? But He might not. . My heart trusted God with this dream. It trusted Him the day it looked like it wasn't going to happen & the day it did. . I will trust him with my kids as they grow into adults and don't need this house and my role as a mama shifts. . I will trust him as we use this house for others. Remembering that old friendships are more precious than new things. . I will trust God with my business as we prayerfully build it into something more meaningful and useful to those who need it. . Because... He has never failed me. & Dear one, He won't fail you. . We're all icebergs.
Okay, so we know we're all pretty unique. When I say unique I mean completely different, like truly being an outsider. And I mean if you are and you're not just in that crowd of pretenders because you believe it's cool. I am an outsider, yeah an observer, a thinker, a complete and utter fucking weirdo to the normals, fortunately was blessed with the pretty boy appearance so I'm still functioning okay. Anyway, to the point. Everyone we meet, and everybody we come across, is basically an iceberg. Like slow down and really soak it in, I'll even tag a tacky iceberg gif to help your visuals. We are all icebergs. Everything we show everybody we walk past or socialise with in the real world is what is above the surface. Like the pretty looking ice caps, floating gracefully above the surface of the water. A lot of people we meet are just that a pretty cap floating on top of the water. Others are real. Like, if you could see below the surface were truly a lot bigger and more powerful then we let off. Like, okay lets be honest who really truly shows how big of an iceberg they really are. And then, when we let people get real close, why are we surprised when they get hurt. Their feelings, whatever. It brings me to the point of why aren't we just honest from the outset, like hey. My minds super deep, I'm probably the biggest fucking iceberg you'll ever meet. But there's a great thing about that. It'll take me a lot longer to melt and I'll always be here for you. We are all fucking ice bergs. Some of us a huge, and just hiding below the surface of the water, others are extremely shallow. Remember fellow icebergs, little bergs don't like being near huge icebergs. So that loud, nasty bully that speaks so loud and spreads so many rumours - has to do that, because their not getting any bigger. Fuck yeah, I love being an iceberg.
