*Honestly this is more of a self-talk, but read on if you like.🙃* 4/15/22 (11:11 AM) If it ain’t obvious, this clearly isn’t a post to add to my portfolio. Rather, it’s a post to ASSESS my portfolio. A post to assess and record my journey. I feel I’m reaching a point where I’m ready to start taking my studies much more seriously. I’m tired of only being able to draw one-dimensional portraits and characters floating in a void. I greatly appreciate the encouragement and support I get from those things, but it’s just not where I wanna stay. Don’t get me wrong, I love my portraits and floating characters, but I’ve got much grander visions. I wanna create this comic series, y’see, and I wanna turn said comic into an animated franchise, possibly with movie installments, who knows?! I won’t go into details, but it’s something that I’m claiming. This endeavor will be my “mark”, it’s my dream. But to attain that dream, I’m gonna have to commit and shake things up. I need to actually learn to animate, broaden my “character design” horizons, study composition and storytelling in-depth…I’ve enjoyed all the art I’ve made up until this point in one way or another, but more so it’s the stuff that I don’t post, that which I hold most dearly. But for as much as I say I wanna do, I must become more conscious of what I’m putting my energy into and learning. I’m not going to art school just to be in debt and STILL not have any guarantees, so it’s truly up to me to find my own way and become more disciplined. Clearly this whole spiel isn’t magically going to change anything, but I’m setting a public intention nonetheless. I want to tell stories, go to other worlds, and hold the keys of wonder and awe with a mere pencil. I wanna draw bara and DILFs for crying out loud🤣! Storyboarding, concept art, character design, raw emotion...I don’t mean to sound too grandiose, but I am as I am, and I just know what I want to do. Here’s to actually following through on that.
