“i don’t know where your brother is.” to say she had a disdain for hanzo was... not quite right. whatever business the shimada clan had within their own family was theirs, but she would be lying if she felt comfortable with her friend’s former murderer trying to seek him out. 

Reinhardt had heard more than enough stories about the infamous Shimada clan even before he had briefly met Genji Shimada in his younger years with Overwatch. The younger of the two brothers, as little interaction as Reinhardt had had with the man then, had told him a few things about the clan and Overwatch intel had been in the database as well, helping to fill the gaps in Genji’s stories.

Seeing the man in front of him now, Hanzo Shimada, the older of the two brothers, had been strange for Reinhardt at first. The memories of Genji suffering the many weeks after they had restored his body and given him a new one, still in his mind. The hatred and anger the younger brother had shown towards Hanzo had been palpable in the air on days the man was doing especially bad.

“You must be Hanzo Shimada?”, Reinhardt asks as he approaches the archer, stretching out his hand, offering it as a greeting and a sign that he did not hold any ill-will against the man. Reinhardt himself knew that certain things, certain deeds, had to be done. That a single human could not bend the will of a much larger power at hand. And in the case of the man standing in front of him, his clan had been said larger power in his life. The German did not condemn Hanzo for what he has done, even though many might try to convince him to do otherwise.
