SONGS_of_the_YEAR… // HUSBANDS returned w/ their latest LP titled ‘A Diary Index’ & it found the Boston-based quintet tampering down on the feedback a tad in favor of some earnest & Emo-tinged SlowCore that never shied away from its warm intensity as evidenced on album highlight “BELIEVE IN YRSELF” “MIND” was a choice cut from IDLER WHEEL’s latest LP titled ‘Run Straight Down’ & it found the Boston-based project bringing a melancholic bout of guitar-laden gloom that found an ideal balance between personal loss & joyful bursts of plaintive emotion. “STILL” was thee track on JUST MUSTARD’s latest LP titled ‘Heart Under,’ which found the Irish quintet making an eerie unease feel like the warmest of blanketed dread as they reveled in their starkly hued, yet vibrantly vivacious vibe which was on full display across 4 mins of atmospheric gloom_rock. “MY NAME IS HELL” was the title-track from KAL MARK’s latest LP & it found the freshly reformed Boston-based quartet battling those dark urges while seamlessly blending post-hardcore, grunge & crunchy ass AltRock into one bombastically brash brand of post_post_punk. “FLOWERS” was an infectiously hook-laden cut from KICKING’s latest EP titled ‘Goodbye Party’ & it found the Jackson, MS-based quintet bringing an amplified bout of 90s-indebted AltRock that was chockfull of stacked distortion, driving low-ends & doomy riot_grrrling.

“DAYS” was the lead track from LACING’s latest EP titled ‘Never’ & it found the Chattanooga-based quartet bringing a beautifully blended bout of fuzzy pedal_gazing & soft_grunging DreamPop that leaned heavily into its six-string swirl, bashed out low-ends & EMOtionally dazed vox.
