Derek rubs his eyes as he reaches over to grab his phone. He unplugs it and rolls over, stretching before letting his vision focus on the suddenly bright screen

he knows he can change his phone so it's dark mode, but he didn't want to be like everyone else; although he can hear Reid going on about God knows what involving vision and bright lights in dark room.

Derek sits up frantically afraid that perhaps Reid had a health scare, or he saw something on the news. No response, it's been five minutes. And in Derek's head, it's hours upon hours.
