the house of mouse won’t let me out

Hojun was not trained in acting, but he supposed the last few years of his life would definitely qualify him as method, if nothing else. He was good at faking it, which had proved to be a very useful skill. However, that did not mean he fucking enjoyed sitting at his job in a onesie. He was a twenty-three year old man on set for a bunch of middle schoolers who wanted to see him make a fool of himself. How was that supposed to help his career? He would have rather have been on Dream High with Mijung, since it at least meant there was acting involved. Instead, 99 insisted he would be much better off trying variety. Well, at least now he knew variety would never be a path her pursued; he would rather take the hood of his onesie and suffocate himself with it.
He had never been a particularly whimsical guy; he had to grow up fast, which was why he never paid much attention to many other people. They did not understand him, did not get how much it cost him to be this guy, to pretend to be happy go lucky. The world sucked and the fact that he had been at this for so damn long despite his talent was certainly proof of it.
The cameras were thankfully not on yet, but so very many people were going to see him in a onesie. His own mother certainly was; she had made fun of him for it, saying he looked just like when he was a baby. He sighed dramatically and looked for a seat on the giant couch. He plopped down next to Goeun, the most tolerable of his co-stars and someone who understood to be a trainee for this side of forever. At least she was almost there; he was still fucking stuck.
“I hear we are going to do skits today. I suppose that counts as acting,” he said. What he really meant was kill me now, but that probably came off in his tone. His onesie was pink of all things? He got it, he looked good in everything, but this was a bit much. “Who knows, maybe today won’t be the day we’ll hate ourselves for being here.”
