I imagine Vigil doesn't get many opportunities to look at Ilian properly, not when the man's usually so guarded and tense and cautious and so many other words that correlate to the fact the thief is usually closed off, so moments like these are very few and far between. Moments that Vigil usually takes his time with to appreciate, even if it was for a minute or so.

I think I mentioned it in this post, but I can definitely imagine to be the kind of person to prefer facing his partner and in those few scenarios where they're asleep and he's awake, would take a minute or two to appreciate them. Not that it happens a lot, but Vigil probably can't get himself to sleep sometimes - and while usually when his body decides his rest is done, he'll take it as a sign to get up and start doing something else.

But that can't really be the case when there's someone else with you, can it? Not that Vigil minds, because he most definitely wouldn't complain, but it would be new to him. He's usually good all on his own, a bed to himself, and the quiet as company — but it's not as quiet when he can faintly hear Ilian's breathing and heartbeat.

I like to imagine Vigil's gaze being incredibly fond, the sort of idiot that'll smile to himself just by looking at his partner because of course looking at the object of your affections is gonna do that to you. I can see him carefully trace his touch against skin, a slow taloned hand cupping against Ilian's cheek, who knows maybe a poke at his nose haha or even briefly brushing over his lips.

It's no longer us vs the world but me versus the world and that includes Vigil Did you ever even care? With your swords and your stupid hair Godd no because if the betrayal happened Ilian would have so much time to rethink and doubt all of what they had and if Vigil did even care in the begining? Probably not since this happened. Also swords and stupid hair lmfao he would say that and it fits bc the swords from blood that maybe Ilian would actually find cool, imagined a scenario where Ilian sees how he uses his abilties and what if Ilian would find it quite cool on contrast to what most would think of as disgusting or sth And he'd like his hair But now its stupid and its all stupid because the fondness is gone (or so you may think, he's hurting okay he's coping)

Also made me think about how he'd escape the jail in such a way that the guards wouldn't even know he's escaped so it'd give him time and cover to truly blend in and work from the shadows until the final reveal or sthhh What for do you yearn?
