“Mister Roxas! Wait! Mister Roxas! You simply cannot eat a lime like that!! Roxas!!” she wailed and pleaded. Her tiny existence only becoming shorter and tinier the more she kept trying to jump up and pull his arms away from the lime he was shoving into his gob! Beads of worry expressed themselves around her image as she worriedly, bottom to top in her little flurry of impassioned and inexpressible feelings, attempted to make him stop eating that lime!

“Well! You know! Because they are so sour! But….! YOU CAN’T JUST EAT MY CHARACTER FRUIT LIKE THAT!!!!!” Really!

“YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW!!! How it makes a girl feel when you—just!! Do that! Limes are…. where Lime was birthed! You’re such a terrible person, Mister Roxas! It is very un-holy-like of you!”

“Don’t worry. I have its paws locked in with my fingers.”

She waved the cat around, its body hanging limp and rather content in her heavy-handed grip. She laughed as he seemed to cower away a bit----like a scene from a comedy. “Don’t like cats?”

.... The morning sun was looming overhead. The morning air was a honeysuckle’s dew, clearing and cleansing with every breath. And like dew, her newfound kitten friend attempted escape by whirring and murring in protest to its current lackadaisical holding. She turned the cat in her hands and propped it on her shoulder, squishing it tight to her body, squish-squish. “She pet it, making sure not to catch any stray hairs in the sticky bandages that covered her fingers. “I can imagine why you do not like other animals,” she hummed, the corners of her lips upturned and gracious. Good day. Good mood. “You are just like one. A cat.”

And with that, the pillows under her eyes rose and smiled at him in the dawn’s half moon. She gave him a firm head rub, making sure she ruffled his hair just enough.

“riku and roxas are just dumb birds”

    his hands rose into the air, showing off the bags he was carrying–––– a bag full of sea––––salt ice cream. no surprise visit to twilight town was complete without it! & , if they didn’t finish them all, hopefully roxas knew a place to store them until one of the others came around. for now, though, his intent was to see roxas.

     ❝ i thought we could hang out for a bit! eat some ice cream, catch up...you know. ❞

     sora had gotten to see everyone after his return, but it had been all at once, a day full of smiles & greetings & stories. he hadn’t had the chance to spend time with many others individually other than riku & kairi, & roxas was at the top of his list to spend time with.

     roxas had his own life now, with new friends, & the last thing sora wanted to do was intrude on his new life. he had no claim to that.

     ❝ if you are, then take the ice cream & i can come back some other time! ❞

     he hears the boy’s footsteps on the stairs before anything. there’s a tiny creak in the third floorboard from the bottom; if roxas had skipped that step, he may have evaded detection. isa flips the page in his book from his seat by their bay window, quiet, ‘til he watches a shadowy figure tip-toe towards the kitchen cupboards. with his hair pulled up messily into a sleepy bun and a soft blanket draped over his shoulders, the diviner's voice ripples through the townhouse.
