Marilyn Solaya señala al ICAIC
La cineasta cubana Marilyn Solaya, conocida por «Vestido de novia», enfrenta dificultades para concluir su segundo filme, «Estrés», que cuenta con la participación de reconocidos actores isleños como Isabel Santos, Luis Alberto García y Héctor Noas. Este proyecto fue aprobado y financiado por el Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográfica (ICAIC) en 2023. Sin embargo, tras un cambio en la presidencia de la institución, el control ideológico del régimen sobre el cine nacional se ha intensificado. Actualmente, «Estrés» se encuentra paralizada, sin poder completar su postproducción, y Solaya se cuestiona por qué, mientras el ICAIC sigue invirtiendo en otras producciones más recientes, la suya permanece guardada en un cajón. La Asamblea de Cineastas Cubanos ha denunciado la censura impuesta por las instituciones culturales de la isla caribeña.
La Asamblea de Cineastas Cubanos, compuesta por profesionales de diversas áreas de la industria audiovisual, ha emitido un comunicado que menciona directamente la censura que afecta a la película. «El presupuesto aprobado por el instituto para su finalización está condicionado a la eliminación de planos y secuencias que su directora no acepta. Este tipo de proyecto incomoda a quienes desean presentar una representación del país que se aleje de la realidad», afirman. «Incapaces de hallar soluciones a los problemas, desquitan su frustración con los artistas y ciudadanos, estigmatizando sus angustias, palabras e ideas. Prefieren crear un mundo ideal y un cine acrítico, didáctico y celebrativo que solo represente la superficie de las cosas, sin profundizar en su esencia o naturaleza», añaden.
