Memories Pt. 1
This drabble takes place in premodern times, involving an old group of friends she once took on adventures and quests with, when Sylvie was alive.
The clouds were of something other than air and water, they were solid enough that the party could walk on them with no issue. Luna's hand held firmly in Sylvie's the woman looked around in a sort of wonder at the land she found herself in. "Luna! Griffins!" The delighted shout came from her wife and Luna herself turned to face the direction Sylvie had pointed in. A smile spread on her face while she shook her head at Sylvie's excitement. A loud, booming laugh surrounded them and seemed to reverberate through the entirety of the courtyard. It didn't take anyone long to figure out where it came from, the giant blue skinned sky giant walked towards them, her gown flowing behind her and a smile etched upon her beautiful face. "I hope you have found my home well!" The giantess called to them, and Luna's hand was lifted and waved enthusiastically by Sylvie. The giantess seemed to be amused by this also. When she reached them, she knelt to the ground so she could speak to the 'small folk' about what she needed from them. "Welcome welcome." The five of them gathered around her and Luna studied her carefully. "You two are new." She indicated Luna and Sylvie, causing the basilisk in their party to step forward. "Ahh yes. We've picked them up from a nearby city.. they came highly recommended by a number of people." His voice hissed on each 's' noise and Luna smiled accordingly with his explanation. After bowing her head to the giantess, and pushing her wife to do the same the woman made eye contact. "Luna Cadmar, of Lireculi, and Sylvie Cadmar. I fight, she heals." She was satisfied to see an impressed, friendly look on the giantess woman's face. Just then another booming voice resounded through the area. "What's this I hear about a fight?" A red skinned giant, a fire giant clearly, exited the immense castle. He appeared aggressive, wearing armor and holding the axe at his hip. She studied him carefully as he walked up beside his contemporary. Their host shook her head, laughing at him. "Bron, you're so aggressive. These ladies were just telling me their roles in my favourite adventuring group." Luna was relieved that the giantess stepped in, she wasn't sure she could take an entire giant on her own yet. Relief was brief. Fucking Ibian. The smaller wizard strode passed Luna and Sylvie, straight between the two giants. "I'm always willing to fight!" He shouted, clapping his hands together. "Ibian no-" The giantess was too late, Ibian released a stream of flame into the red giants face. The idiot. A roar, a loud crash, a yelp from Ibian and yelling from the giant man. It all moved so quickly, their giantess host, Livaia, stepped between them and the now offended flame giant. It happened so quickly that Luna almost didn't see the hammer hit her wizard friend, his body crashed into the castle door and Luna rushed to his side, giving the giant and his hammer a wide berth. While Livaia attempted to calm her friend, who was now demanding a match between himself and Ibian. Luna scoffed, Ibian was in no shape to fight him at top health, nevermind now. Too late, the damage was done. "I demand a challenge! To the small folk! Give me a battle!" The red giants face seemed to grow redder and Luna shook her head in annoyance at her impulsive friend. With the giants words she looked over at their host, as if to ask if she was going to let him make such demands of her. "Enough! I understand Bron. You'll have your match." Luna's heart sank a little bit as the giantess conceded to his demands. Hours later, Luna put a hand on Sylvie's shoulder to stop her pacing. "We're good. They're letting the four of us fight him. It'll be fair." The elven woman shook her head though, and leaned into Luna's arms. "I'm not worried about us Luna. They wanted me to 'rest' up-" She used air quotes "-for the fight and wouldn't let me check on Ibian!" She should have known that would be the worry. A shake of the head and a chuckle Luna hugged her wife and gave her a soft kiss. "They've healers here darling, he'll be fine." Luna nuzzled her cheek softly, leading to a small laugh coming from the elf. "Maybe they'll heal some of his brain cells and he'll stop getting us into crap like this." Sylvie giggled and gave Luna a tender kiss, which she returned happily. "Come, eat something, store some energy. Even with four of us, a giants quite the match."
