#iamgratefulfor - Hellooo... Has it not been a week or two since the Coronavirus outbreak or not? And have we not been on a lockdown for about a week or two also? Yesterday was my last day working from home because my role has been furloughed and although, I was upset about this, the spirit of the Lord would rather have me be grateful for what I have now and not dwell on what I do not have. These past weeks may have been nothing but trouble; panic has filled the air and birthed disorderliness, fear hijacked our faith and birthed uncertainty, anxiety led to deaths and bad news fills our world. Yet, for the first time in history, our once busy world is so quiet you can almost hear the pin drop. Once deserted homes are filled with families, once secluded communities are filled with laughter. Once unappreciated heroes are being recognised for jobs well done. Rest is here whether we planned it or not, and these are, at least some things to be grateful to God for. And while everybody is busy seeking refuge, everybody is seeking solution to the problem at hand and everybody is hiding for protection. Let us not forget that God's goodness is new everyday. On a day like this when all hope is lost and things seem terribly bad, there are so many things to be grateful to God for. On a day like this, we can be grateful to God for life. It is God's breath in our lungs afterall and while we're still alive, we might as well thank him for the gift of life. Will you join me to reflect on God's goodness on a day like this? Will you cast your mind on what has been good in your life even during this season? Will you lift up a song of thanks to God? He is good in all things.
