OK my biceps are growing 💪🏻
Now I need to study Goemon's sheathing movements so I don't look like a clumsy idiot while handling the holy sword
Experimental two page comic to practice more dynamic poses and composition. My OC's style was inspired from DMC's Vergil.

Sword people of tumblr, what kind of muscularity and body type does swordfighting generally promote? Want to know for art.
Annon-Guy: Since both Johnny and Izuna fight using Iaido, how would they differ from each other if they both became playable in StrIVe?
Finally, a GG question out of you! It took a bit!
Taking a few cues from Samurai Shodown here, I’ll give you a few examples.
Yoshitora Tokugawa has a rapid draw style for his smaller swords, but it manifests in the form of a contact grab if the first hit connects.
Tachibana Ukyo has a similar attack, but the draw strikes each hit individually, not as a combo as part of his Sasameyuki attack. However his Bust Fighting style in older games more resembles how Yoshitora does this.
A third type is Jin Kisaragi of BlazBlue. Sekkajin acts as a close range mash attack similar to Millia Rage’s Lust Shaker or Chun Li’s famous Hyakuretsukyaku.
A fourth style you see less often is Yuzuriha of Under Night In-Birth, as her draw style requires Negative Edge inputs of holding attack buttons down and releasing them.
To give you some historical context, Johnny’s Mist Finers originally powered up based on his coins in the form of a sequence of Rapid strike combos of 3 different sequences based on the angle input.
Originally the attacks he used in Xrd were based on Level 2 Mist Finers, not Level 3, but because of utility, they adjusted him.
Now all his Mist Finers in Strive hit like a Level 2 Mist Finer, even without the Card buff, though again this is to balance him out, as Level 3 Super Finers in Xrd were too powerful.
As for Izuna, in terms of utility he has a wide range of moves:
-A dashing strike that is similar to Sol’s Vortex though it crosses up like Gunblaze like Order Sol used to do.
-An Invisibility buff, similar to Chipp, with an additional powerful strike that hits like a Counter.
-Izuna can run in Mid Air, similar to Hsien-Ko, and he can do this at various jump heights to mix up his approach and retreat game, similar to Bedman angled jumps.
-His rapid slash attack inputs similarly to Millia’s Lust Shaker, however it has a very wide hit box range, so it works at long distance, similar to how Sin Kiske’s Beak Driver Reckless Strikes used to work in Xrd. It’s a powerful attack but requires mashing to maintain and it has a great deal of recovery. So he has to use it smartly.
Unlike Johnny, Izuna does not have a Mist Iaido stance to transition in to and out of, nor can he use it to safely maintain pressure like Johnny can. However he makes up for this by being mobile and evasive, similar to Chipp.
-He also has one other move called Buddha’s Mustard, which actually serves as a Bombing Grenade, like Elphelt’s Pineberry! Using Mustard Bombs while he dashes around in the air can prove troublesome to anyone trapped on the ground. Especially true if they aren’t as mobile like Potemkin for example, though he does have FDB to deal with it in some scenarios.
Assuming that Izuna makes it to Strive’s Roster (as of this post, anyway), we should prepare ourselves for his moves to get a major overhaul! Here’s hoping he does make it, though!
