[Image: fan comic illustrating a short scene from “Interference” (Doctor Who). 1) The Eighth Doctor sitting under a tree, looking up. Someone off-screen: “You’ve never been a woman, have you?”. 2) The tree is on top of a small grassy hill and the sky is full of pastel colors. Eight and the person sitting in the tree (I.M.Foreman) are both looking at the sky. Eight: “I don’t think I’ve ever been a man”.]

“I.M. FOREMAN’S ONE-SPECIES NONGENETICALLY-ENGINEERED TRAVELLING SHOW! Every act a reflection, every performer a cautionary tale. (All comers welcome, no refunds given.) N.B.: The Management accepts no responsibility for anything at all.” (Interference Book One)
Here’s a little guide to identify who’s who. For the incarnations which weren’t fully described in the books, I claim artistic license, haha.
1-I.M.Foreman. The first incarnation. Wears a blindfold, a white shirt with puffed-out sleeves, brown-leather boots, and a waistcoat. Has long hair, tied into a ponytail. Bleeds way too much if wounded, as if he was bigger on the inside than on the outside.
2-Mohandas the Geek. Has a big head, with eyes a bit too far apart. Also, he’s huge. Eats all kinds of animals to store their dna into his own.
3-Melmoth the Map of Scars, “whose entire body was engraved with information that nobody outside the show had ever been able to read”.
4-Mr Zarathustra the Walking Brain, “whose cranium was so vast and bloated that he had to constantly sit with his head in his hands to make sure his neck didn’t snap.”
5-O’Salamander the Dragon King. Half-man, half-lizard. Apparently blows fire. “This is the point when the stored DNA starts to take over. Part man, part... something else. Whichever part’s supposed to be which.“
6-John Salt the Missing Link. Covered in dense albino fur and looks a bit like a monkey.
7-Mould the Worm Boy. Doesn’t have arms nor legs, and emits some kind of goo, apparently.
8-The Goofus, Living Armoury, “when I start absorbing machine parts into myself as well as DNA.”
9-Ezekiel the Master Aerialist, “the only version of myself who came fitted with wings. Not a very successful experiment, I’m afraid. No offence, Ezekiel.”
10-Queen Nitocris, mistress of serpents, “who’s frankly a lot more snakey than I think any of us intended.”
11-The If. Doesn’t look like anything, really. Has gills of some sort, through which it breathes fragments of memories (past or future). "The If sweats raw time. Isn’t that something?”
12-Aka. “It wasn’t a true shape changer, and it probably couldn’t even decide what form it wanted to take on next, but its body looked horribly unstable anyway. It was a great big blur of living matter, which couldn’t quite settle on one species.“
13-Thirteen. “My last self was different. My final form wasn’t really a form at all. It was more like a force of nature than a person. Raw life energy, I suppose. It didn’t have a body, as such. It was the essence of all the biological data my regenerations had been collecting over the years. The ultimate Gallifreyan life form. My destiny. The final state of I.M. Foreman.”
The Doctor has visited Totter's Lane any number of times since 1963, but how many times has he visited Susan? Maybe the next incarnation will stop in and check on his granddaughter.

They resumed shooting on location for the 50th today. For those who've seen Doctor Who's very first episode, you may recognize the scrapyard in which the TARDIS was first introduced.
