On a day like this...
It's those days that it feels like everything is weighing down on you, those days that you can't seem to see anything excepts the failures you've made, the days when you are looked down on by other people including yourself. These are the days when we're in trouble. These are the days that the voice of the enemy is loud. These are the days that it's easier to escape, distract, and sometimes even imagine other ways to find a way out. These are the days that make a person thirst for a way out, an escape from the life they are in and an entrance into a new life that's easier.Â
On these days you are presented with a choice. A choice to make a change and turn towards God, or a choice to turn away and allow the darkness to consume you. To allow the voice of your low self esteem, your past regrets, and the opinions of others control who you become. To go through life as if nothing significant has happened, and like you are not a precious decedent of the one true King that loves you far more than anyone else ever could. To go through life as if the one and only son of God had not DIED in order to SAVE your life.Â
Or you could focus on the love that Jesus poured out for you. To let the sacrifice that he made change who you are. To see the difference that Jesus can make in your life and make in the lives around you. Only when you allow Jesus to TRULY come into your heart and change who you are can you make an unbelievable impact with the power of the Holy Spirit.
"To defeat the darkness out there, you must defeat the darkness inside yourself." - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
It's so important to not become apathetic towards Jesus' sacrifice and life change. Yes, it has saved you once but does it still continue to impact you today? I pray that God leads whomever reads this to not allow the voice of the enemy take over who you are, through obvious or subtle ways.
