still thinking about this and the way alastor giggles at his impression and calls him pal and teases him about his compliments and thinking about how, given all of this, his rejection was probably the meanest he's ever been to vox up to that point
vox proposing a partnership and being vulnerable with him and nervous but not afraid and confident in what he was saying bc he didn't know alastor was even capable of being that way to him he probably saw him be that way with other people but he did all that because he thought even rejection would still be laced with some kind of friendship which hurts more since it was revealed that the expressions and art direction of his rejection were actually toned down bc the artist was told that they were friends
it WAS actually laced with friendship, that was alastor being NICE TO HIM bc they were FRIENDS, but even as friends he was still so harsh i'm going to throw up
