I took this to mean they simply didn't have time to stop for a "meal" after the last conquest clean up (before Eclipse's birth)

esp considering how far away Planet Wisp is from Earth

they have red fruit so it's not like they'd starve, just not be getting enough of certain nutrients

I just can't see having Eclipse kill anyone previously when everything we're shown is him not killing people (even when he tries)

otherwise why would Black Death even have to tell him the humans would provide more nourishment alive? he says "I see" not "oh, right, I forgot"

Eclipse is violent and talks violent, but he only ever backs it up to a point

he frequently disables rather than kills even tho it'd be just as easy (he is covered in pointy bits)
