He learns weeks before his 18th he will be married to someone his family approves of, they managed to find a pastor who agrees with their views and will provide the necessary documents. He doesn't know what to do! It's illegal what they intend to do - forcing a heat and bonding on their underage child. The marriage and bond will have to be seen as legal by the authorities since it's so close to his birthday.

The day of he's surprised his alpha cousin arrives, the man had left for the city ages ago after blatantly disagreeing with their staunchly conservative ideas. John's even more surprised with his cousin gets him alone and passes him some pills. They're emergency heat suppressant. He urges John to take them after the wedding since he'll be alone with the bastard he's meant to marry. If he can get away, his cousin will be waiting with a car up the road and will take him to safety. They don't have long before his family interrupt, his cousin making excuses that John had been catching him up on events.

The whole ordeal has John sick to his stomach even as he's marched up the aisle to a man he has never met but who looks at him like a prize cow. All he can focus on are the pills he hid in a seam of his pants. A vile drink is shoved down his throat and it doesn't take long before the heat prickles along his skin. The reception is a blur before they're ushered to a room upstairs and locked in. John stutters out something and flees to the bathroom. Somehow he manages to down 2 pills and focus.

His so-called husband bangs at the door and demands he come out. There's not much but he fills a glass with water and readies himself. Thank fully the bastard is turned away from the door and John can slam the glass into his head. He's stunned but still fights John, managing a partial bite to his neck but John slams his head back into the bastards face. He's thrown off long enough for John to grab a lamp and wack him again. He crumples and John is horrified to find things on the bed, things he knows are old implements to bind an omega and force them into bonding and breeding. With a growl he uses them to bind the bastard tight, nobody will find him til morning.

The only way out is the window and thankfully the reception is still going loud and raucous so they don't see him make his escape. As promised, his cousin is waiting for him ready to run. About half an hour later they pull up to another car where his cousin introduces his girlfriend, another omega, who will take him somewhere safe to wait out the rest of his heat. It's the safest option as there's no way the family won't come to the cousin once they see John's gone and he can rightfully say he doesn't know where the omega is.

With a quick goodbye they set off back into the countryside where she explains she has her friends cabin ready for him. Nobody will know where he is for as long as needed, they'll keep him safe and free, he just needs to stay free until he's 18. Even with the marriage documents, the incomplete bond meant nobody could force him back and rendered the whole thing void.

The chemical heat is nasty. It's painful and miserable and John swears he'll do anything he can to avoid the shit again. Later his cousin confirms his family stormed into his place with the police claiming he kidnapped John but his cousin is able to throw them off, even slip the police a little heads up about the illegal marriage.
