I'm sooo excited for how zombie stage is going to handle the fetishization and sexualization of mlm East Asian couples. Sex is a normal thing, enjoying seeing sex involving two people of the opposite sex is also normal, but letting it effect how you speak and think of real people who are in opposite same sex relationships or of other races isn't, and unfortunately that tends to happen a lot, especially to young (white) girls who haven't been taught that homosexual couples are as regular as heterosexual ones. I adore ivantill, and I think pearl clutching purity around sex and nsfw content in fandom (especially adult fandoms or fandom spaces) is extremely aggravating and pointless because sex is as normal a human thing for almost the entire population as eating or sleeping. It's part of our lives. But I also think that zombie stage, specifically with the shipping here, is important to view through a more critical lense. The themes here are about the over sexualization of idols, to the point where they are not seen as humans or people but as bodies, objects of pleasure, or toys to be played with as long as the "good" parts (the body) still work, even if the face or mind is "broken." And this happens so, so, sooooo much with queer relationships. From men to lesbians, from women to gay men, from queer people to queer people.
I am wondering though, how they plan to handle hyunaluka, and what sort of audience luka might gather. Mizisua was incel men, ivantill will likely be gay men and teenage/new adult girls and women, but Luka im not sure yet. He could also be women, or men, or a mix.
For Hyuna though I really want them to bring up the sexualization and fetishization of young brown girls, ESPECIALLY in the kpop industry where colorism is incredibly present and public in fandom spaces. Hyuna feels overlooked often by fans, so I'm kind of excited to see if that will get called out on or not, since Hyuna seems to be taking more of a major role here in zombie stage. Hopefully Vivimeng can handle her respectfully
