The SCP Wiki reading experience as a newcomer is clicking on an anomaly you think looks cool, reading through and seeing it references a different SCP halfway through, not wanting to get lost then clicking the referenced notice and reading through that page. Said page references another SCP, so you click the link and read through that page so you understand everything properly, before seeing yet another embedded link to a different SCP. Process repeats several times until you finally get what’s being referenced and backtrack to a previous link in the chain, continuing down the page until you see another red bit of text. Repeat the process ad infinitum until by the time you backtrack to your original page several hours later, you have entirely forgotten what the fuck is happening and need to start from the beginning. On the plus side it’s really fun so at least it’s a positive experience lol
