@hvnaaâ sent: [ bloody ] for your muse coming to my muse with blood stains
Tired eyes fluttered open at the sound of knocking on the front door of his flat. The doorbell was broken and had been for a while, but he hadnât cared enough to be bothered to fix it. For a moment, while still half asleep, he thought it was just a vivid dream that had woken him up, but then it sounded again. Someone was outside and requesting to be let inside. Feeling around next to him in the darkness, he found his phone on his bedside table and pressed the button to allow it to light up and display the time. 3 am.
Axel frowned, rubbing his hand over his face before reluctantly sitting himself up. He wondered who the hell was coming to his door at this hour, but he had his suspicions. If it was another one of his clients who had stalked him back to his place in an attempt to beg him for more drugs, desperate to chase that next high, he wouldnât hesitate to punch them directly in the face. He had meeting times and locations for a reason, and he really didnât appreciate them intruding on his personal life. His place was and always would be off limits. Sometimes threatening to cut them off from his supply was enough to make them smarten up, and other times it would just piss them off and theyâd act out irrationally.
On his way out of the bedroom, Axel ensured to grab his pocket knife just in case whoever it was proved to be dangerous, and then he proceeded over to the front door. It was locked with a bolt and chain, so after unfastening it, he opened it a little to see who it was. To his surprise, it wasnât one of his clients. It was a young woman -- one that he didnât recognize. What stood out to him immediately was the fact that her clothes and various areas of exposed flesh were tinted red with what he knew to be blood. Whether it was fresh or old, he couldnât really tell without the sunlight. It was just so dark with only a few streetlamps illuminating the empty sidewalks and roads. Parking lots and alleyways were the dangerous spots to be at this hour, especially in a neighborhood such as this.
âWhoa, shit. Are you okay?â Axel asked as he opened the door further, his blue eyed gaze momentarily looking past the stranger in front of him. Through the darkness, he was trying to see if he could spot anyone approaching to signify incoming danger. Alas, unless they had backed off and were lurking in the shadows, he wasnât able to see anyone.
âWhoâs blood is that?â That was the question that he wanted to know the answer to first and foremost. Was she covered in someone elseâs blood, or was she bleeding? Figuring that out first would at least give Axel an idea of what to do next. If she was bleeding and had been desperate to get inside somewhere for safety, he would of course want to help. On the other hand, if the blood wasnât hers, then that would bring on a whole new slew of questions. The last thing he wanted was having some sort of psycho murderer taking refuge in his house. If the cops traced her back to him and decided to investigate, then heâd be screwed for his own reasons.
