Thank you very much to everyone (@saintvoids, @nycterisg, @thescrapwitch, @queerofthedagger, @tathrin, @emyn-arnens, @tobermoriansass, @melestasflight, @slashmarks, @zealouswerewolfcollector, @starspray -- have I truly been gone so long??) who has tagged me over the last few weeks to share bits and snips. I've been deliberately Not Writing Fic to try to get a handle on other obligations, but a throwaway comment by @balrogballs today has me cracking my knuckles and churning out another installment of The Importance of Peer Review. Lovers of my mad anthropologist Finrod, rejoice!

Here he is, crushing on Bigfoot, having roped longsuffering Edrahil into equipping him for an evening of stylish squatch stalking in the wild woods of Beleriand.

“Can you imagine, Edrahil?” Finrod’s eyes have gone hazy and his mouth is soft. “A footprint the length of my arm! What a stride he must have! What a presence!” He turns to gauge the fall of the cape in the mirror, tugging the matching tunic to sit smoothly and elegantly across his narrow hips. “Yes, I do like this. Very charming and rustic and just the thing, I think, for tracking my new friend-to-be. The Bëorians always have such good ideas.” Edrahil tidies away the scraps of flannel, brushing loose threads from Finrod’s shoulders and gathering up the scissors and tape. “If you say so, my Lord. They certainly cannot complain that you are not an eager sponsor of their ingenuity. But personally, I would not be caught dead in that hideous plaid.”
