03/17/20 - Sparks, NV - SNOW IN THE MORNING - If it snowed down here last night, it’s most likely that the mountain passes will remain closed which means we’ll be spending another day in Sparks waiting for the replacement circuit board for our water heater to arrive from Sacramento, CA. There is nothing much to do here except practice hunkering down which seems to be where things are going with the new Covid-19 restrictions. There are lots of rumors about what that will mean in the weeks to come: especially as it relates to State Park and commercial RV park closures which will affect our travel plans. For now, in Sparks, all the facilities at our nice RV Park have been closed and most non-essential businesses in the city have already shut down. Luckily, our RV repair shop has remained open but they are not sure for how long that will be if any of their employees get sick. All the ski resorts are closed as well which means our bright idea to bypass the rainy coast and go skiing instead is no longer the plan. Oh well, life goes on: we’ll find a way to adapt to all the new restrictions. If this is what it takes to save lives, we’re all in.
