As a Black queer woman, it's important to me that we bring attention to the discrimination against our community that still remains a major issue. It's my goal, as President of the Human Rights Campaign, to continue to fight for our people and show that these numbers are NOT a way forward. Black LGBTQ+ people face pervasive discrimination in their everyday lives, which continues to negatively impact their economic and social well-being. An analysis by the @humanrightscampaign, found that 26% of Black LGBTQ adults surveyed experienced sexual orientation-based discrimination while applying to a job or at work. And 23% of LGBTQ adults of color, 22% of transgender adults, and 32% of transgender adults of color have no form of health insurance. These are just two areas where Black LGBTQ+ people face discrimination.
