Patton sqealed and threw himself to Janus’ arms before he could say anything else. “I can’t believe you're really here! I’ve missed you!”

Janus chuckled and hugged Patton back, “I’ve missed you too.” With his arms wrapped around Patton, he could noticed it was getting harded to hold them? Janus thought they were pulling apart but no, and Patton's grip on his body felt tighter too.

Patton seemed to notice too, “oh shoot.” With a quick movement they grabbed Janus’ hand and pulled him inside, closing the door behind them. “I forgot, I forgot, I forgot,” they mumbled to themselves.

Janus was quite confused now, specially looking around Patton's house. All the curtains were closed, which was weird considering how much Patton loved natural light. There were a bunch of stuff on the floor or in places where they didn't belong, like they’ve been poorly rearranged after bumping on them. And there were several stools and makeshift ladders to reach high and low places, like a kid was living here.

“You forgot about whaaaa?” Janus turned around to see Patton now on his knees, back against the ceiling, and at least twenty feet tall!

Patton chuckled awkwardly and looked down at Janus, “I uh… this is why I wanted you to know when you were here.”

Janus had to back up to actually get a full look on Patton. Something was going to get into his mouth if he didn't close it soon. “Wha… this… how?!”

“The accident at my aunt’s? This is the side effect...” Luckily, Patton's embarrassment was already making them shrink… who knew how much though… “Please don't be scared, we’re still working to understand this.”

Janus noticed the change this time, he stepped closer to Patton. “So… you just grow randomly?"

Patton shrugged, “not really. We know the change is linked to my emotions but it’s not very… consistent. The first explanation the people on the lab gave me was that I grow with positive emotions and shrink with negative ones, but I’ve shrank while being happy too.”

“So it goes the other way around too?” That would be interesting to see, Patton was always the tall one.

Patton nodded, glad his head wasn't reaching the ceiling anymore. The shrinking also stopped for now, but at least he wouldn't be as intimidating.

Janus looked up at Patton “I think this is too tall even for you”

Patton giggled, “but I’ve been dealing with short problems too… sorry I used to make fun of you for that.”

Janus shrugged, “I’d say it's your karma.” He looked at Patton’s hand… just their hand was huge! A couple of feet more and he could sit on it comfortably.

Patton shifted slightly, dropping an inch or two. They knew Janus would be confused and all… but people have been staring at them for days and they were getting tired of it, “you're not… scared, right?”

Janus looked back up, did he stare for too long? “No! Of course not Patt! You're just big and it's shocking but, you're still my Patton.”

Patton blinked and blushed. They didn't know why but Janus calling him “his” made them all shy and flustered.

Janus’ eyes shot open and he blushed darkly, he said that out loud right? He cleared his throat, “well uh… is there anything I could do to help shrink you down?”

“I don't think so…” Apparently being flustered made them shrink too. Patton should write it down somewhere for their next checkup, “Could you move closer so I can stretch my legs? I don't want to hurt you or anything.”

“Sure.” Janus got closer to Patton’s body, he felt like a child on his mother's lap.

Patton extended their legs, instinctively holding Janus against him so he could get comfortable.

Janus couldn't help but blush even darker as Patton pressed him against their body. It was weird being held like this by a giant hand… but Patton was so warm.

Patton's legs were taller than Janus on their own! He used to feel small around them but this was a whole new level! He didn't mind, sure being on the smaller side was annoying, but with Patton… he always felt so protected and cared for.

Patton noticed, “oh I-I’m sorry I didn't mean to hold you like that.” They pulled their hand away, resting it on their thigh.

Janus looked up, he couldn't see Patton's face being this close to their body though. “It's okay Patt, I uh… actually like being this close to you.”

Patton's face turned red again and they started shrinking again, at a much higher pace.

Janus let out a small yelp as he felt Patton's body practically disappear from behind him. He turned around, finding a shrunken Patton sitting on the floor. They were definitely smaller than their normal size, “d-did I cause that?”

Patton looked up, seeing Janus from this angle wasn't helping them at all. He looked so tall and handsome, those thoughts only kept Patton shrinking.

Yeah Janus was getting worried now. Could Patton shrink to nothing? What if they did? How would he grow them back?! Janus kneeled down in front of his dwindling friend, “w-what do I do to stop it?”

Patton looked down at themselves. Okay they had to calm down before they got stuck too small… again, at least Janus would be here to help this time. “I- no, this is on me I’m just being weird about stuff.”

Janus raised an eyebrow. Too weird? About what?

Patton stood up, they weren't shrinking as much as before but they were definitely still getting smaller. Ugh! They weren't prepared to deal with all his fuzzy feelings! They weren't prepared before the accident and now there was no running away from them.

Janus let out a soft sigh as Patton's shrinking seemed to stop. “Is me being here making you… uncomfortable? I could leave if you don't want me to see you like this.”

“No!” Patton didn't want him to leave! Not only because moving around at barely two feet tall wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they didn't want to be alone. “I’m not uncomfortable, not around you. It's been days since they let me be back at home, and technically I can't interact with anyone… But I want you here.”

Janus had a slight blush on his cheeks, “Patt.. ugh I don't know. I don't want you to keep changing because of me.”

Patton shook his head, “I don't care. This size thing has been a pain to deal with, I don't want it to take you away from me.”

Okay, now Janus didn't know how to feel about that. Patton has been a big crush for, Janus even forgot for how long! He kept leaving flirty comments here and yhete to grab Patton's attention but it never worked. Janus thought they didn't have any effect on them but… he could literally see they did now. Has Patton liked him back for all these years.

Patton was getting desperate at not getting a response. Janus was spacing out on his own thoughts, as if they didn't have their own to deal with already. Patton was now closer to one foot but they didn't care, they walked closer to Janus and climbed his legs.

Janus felt Patton’s small body on him and instinctively cupped his hands around them. “Here, I don't want you to hurt yourself.” He helped Patton up his lap and let them sit there.

Was this what Janus felt being against them before? Patton didn't know if he could deal with it much longer. “You do have an effect on me Jan, but not a bad one. At least I think it's not bad.”

Janus was sure Patton was now smaller than he had been to them. “Uh… I affect you? How?”

“Well, it's hard to explain but I… mmm something attracts me to you. I feel safe and loved with you, and I feel like I want to make you feel the same thing.”

“Yeah… I think that's a great way to explain it.” Janus scratched the back of his head, “listen I didn't want it to come out this way. I never imagined it would come out this way, but if it makes you feel better.” Janus took a deep breath, “I feel like that too, I’ve felt like that for so long. Being away from you has been so hard, I just want to stay by your side.”

That stopped Patton’s shrinking, it actually gave them a small growth spurt. “You really mean it?”

Janus smiled at Patton, who was now at eye level with him. “I do, and I promise I’ll be here for you.”

Patton smiled and cupped Janus’ cheek. Their hand looked so small, it only made Patton a lot more flustered. “Can I?”

Janus chuckled a bit and held the back of Patton's head, “go ahead.” This was it, it was really happening! At least if he really understood what Patton meant.

They didn't wait any longer and closed the space between them with a kiss. Patton felt like a hundred butterflies were dancing on their stomach. They could feel the heat coming from Janus’ face merge with their own heat.

Janus felt Patton getting heavier as they leaned on him. He laid down on the floor, letting them lay on top of him. Janus kept going with the kiss, only stopping once Patton grew out of reach.

Patton frowned and looked down at Janus with a chuckle, “guess I got a bit excited.”

Janus chuckled back and nodded, “that's what it looks like.”

“You look adorable when I’m bigger than you.” Patton stroked Janus’ hair as they got off of him to lay on the floor.

Janus blushed, he felt a tingling sensation running through his body but assumed it was just him being flustered. Janus watched Patton as they started growing again… only to find a confused look on his face.

Looking around, Janus realized it wasn't Patton growing. He was shrinking.

Patton sat up and picked Janus up to try and comfort him, “uh… I guess it's contagious after all. I’m so sorry Jan.”

Roman heard the largest—Brutus. That’s his name now. Might as well call him something—exhale in the I’m-trying-and-failing-not-to-get-mad-at-you manner. He reached into one of his strange get-up’s pockets and pulled out what looked like a brick. After a few seconds he thrusted it at Roman.

Roman noticed two things. The first was that the brick-like object was actually a phone, and the second was that Roman’s breakfast seemed to be projected on the grainy screen.

Roman thought he should probably be offended.

It wasn’t Instagram-worthy, sure, but it was still his marvelous cooking skills displayed on the screen. Roman still had followed the social media-addict urge to document everything about his life and posted the picture to Twitter. But...

“Since when is bacon illegal in the state of Florida?” Roman asked.

Brutus’ eye twitched, before he jabbed a finger at the photo. It landed on a tiny, ragged leg, like a doll’s. The actor suddenly realized what—rather, who he was pointing at.

Oh.

Roman swallowed.  

“Yes,” he said, willing his voice steady, “that’s my breakfast. Congratulations.”

Roman had scooped up and set aside the owner of the leg before he took the photo. Said owner had let him, before continuing on with his business as if nothing happened. It was a stark contrast to the shaking, terrified pleading he had been met with the first time the human tried to hold him.

“Do you see this?” Brutus asked, raising a jagged eyebrow.

When Roman had first met the little guy, it was pouring so hard Roman could’ve sworn his lights were going to pop out. He’d pulled on a jacket and hobbled outside when he remembered something on the apartment deck. He’d been about to grimace at its drenched appearance when he noticed a strange light pulsing in the alley below.

“You have something of ours, don’t you?” Another of the group smiled, and it was all teeth. “Small? Human-shaped? Literal chatterbox? Ring any bells, Mr. Prince?”

With a groan, Roman had hurried down the stairs, praying that whatever the light belonged to, it wasn’t his. He’d rounded the corner with a shiver to find that same light coming from what appeared to be...a tiny humanoid?

Panic struck like a whip when Roman realized he’d been silent for too long. “I—I have a doll redesigning hobby. That—was one of my projects. Not that it’s any of your business.”

Curiosity had overridden fear and before the actor had known it, he’d been crouching down and inspecting what really seemed to be a tiny person. What he wasn’t expecting was the silver sheen to the tiny’s skin, or to see circuits and panels littered throughout his body. He certainly wasn’t expecting the little guy's eyes to snap open and flinch back, and was anything but prepared for the almost-human to start begging.

He’d managed to calm the little guy down after far too long in the storm, but it’d been worth it. Roman soon began the process of bringing the tiny person inside and drying him off, as well as the process of trying not to make him fear his every twitch. He’d managed to pry a name from him even still.

Well, less a name, more of a serial code. L0G1C-s, or something like that. A dull choice for a title, Roman had thought. The tiny agreed.

A few days later, they’d found a name that stuck. That same day, Logan’d asked if he could stay with Roman.

And thus, the tiny robot became a wonderful part of Roman’s household.

“Well, then.” Brutus rumbled, starling Roman out of the memory. Brutus zoomed in on the leg, revealing a—had that been there the whole time? “If this is yours, then how do you explain one of our markings on it?”

Roman couldn’t help but gape at the hourglass-like symbol on Logan’s ankle.

Over the days, Roman had grown closer to the android, and Logan had learned as much about the actor as he had of him. He’d learned about Logan’s predesigned use and purpose and code, what they had made his four-inch-supercomputer-of-a-guest for. He’d also learned that Logan didn’t live up to his predesigned use, and all about the “bug” in Logan’s code.

They—who “they” were, Logan never answered, and that probably had something to do with the fact that Roman never asked—had always acted angry when he’d shown emotion. They’d express disappointment when he questioned his makers. They’d explode when Logan acted the even the tiniest bit human.

He’d learned that Logan had delt with this by shutting up and doing his job, until he couldn’t, and that’s when Roman’d met him.

But he’d also learnt about Logan’s love for art and poetry and music, about philosophy and ethics and the nature of morals. Roman had encouraged that Logan indulge in the things he was taught to flinch from.

And eventually, they steered away from ever discussing how Logan was and why.  

Because Roman knew that Logan never liked talking about his past.

And now, it seemed like that past had come back to haunt him.

“What—what do you mean ‘yours’?” Roman stuttered, but it was already too late. He saw one of the bastards pull out a pair of handcuffs. “I found that piece from a thrift store, I don’t—hey!”

The actor only had a moment to prepare before the one with the handcuffs slammed Roman against the wall. Roman wheezed, because ow, and the stranger took the moment to flip him on his back. Roman twisted his head to look at the guy—stocky, scars on his face, couldn’t be more than Roman’s age—and he adverted his eyes.  

The scarred man’s face remained blank as he spoke, “Roman Prince, you are under arrest for illegal possession of government technology, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. Depending on how you cooperate, that list may expand.”

Even through the roaring of blood in his ears and the pounding of his heart, Roman realized his rights weren’t read. Thick, black dread began to well up when he realized he didn’t have any.

“Thank you for your time, Mr. Prince,” Brutus sneered, before grasping the actor’s arms and hauling him off the wall. Roman thought saw a figure behind move him but when he attempted to look a gloved hand yanked him back. “I suggest you stay still.”

 “Not even an involuntary muscle twitch.” Janus responded, voice monotone. Roman pursed his lips in thought. Maybe he had to do it harder. He gripped the clump of hair with both hands and tugged hard.

 A small yelp and wince was all the warning Roman received before a hand reached out and grabbed him, taking him off of Janus’ head. “What-Wait! We were so close!” He was sure it would have worked if he had kept tugging like that.

 He was brought in front of Janus’ annoyed face. “No, you weren’t. We are done.” Janus let Roman off back on the coffee table before standing back up. “I’m going to bed.” Was all Janus said before leaving the room. Roman could only watch him go with a pout.

 He was sure it would work. He just needed another chance at testing it out. Roman smiled, a plan forming in his mind. He would show Janus that Disney logic was soundproof!

 Roman had had to wait a few days, knowing that if he tried anything right away that Janus would be expecting it. But now, a few days later, he was sure it was out of Janus’ mind. The perfect time to strike.

 It was morning and despite knowing Janus was awake, the human had yet to come down yet. Roman would have to be quick but he should have plenty of time. Roman saw Janus’ hat, face up on the small table near the door. Perfect.

 Roman took out his hook and climbed up the small table with ease. Once his hook was neatly wound back up and at his side, Roman climbed into the hat, shifting slightly before stilling. Roman grinned, now all he had to do was wait. And hope Janus didn’t look inside his hat before putting it on.

 Thankfully, Roman didn’t have to wait long. Janus came downstairs not too long after he settled down in the hat. And, also thankfully, Janus didn’t look as he picked up the hat and turned it over to place on his head. Roman had to grip the fabric within the hat though, to stop from falling right on Janus’ head, because he definitely would have felt that.

 Roman settled down softly into the head of curls, grinning at the success of his plan. Now all he had to do was give the hair a few more tugs to prove his theory correct. He grabbed a clump of hair, about to tug on it when-wait.

 Was...Was that the front door?

 Roman dropped the hair as he realized the fatal mistake in his plan. Janus only grabbed his hat because he was going to work.

 Roman gulped, realizing how screwed he was. He thought about yelling or even tugging on some hair to get Janus’ attention but stopped fast when he realized Janus was already getting into his car. If he said anything, he would surely be in trouble. And while he may not be scared of Janus anymore, Janus could still be quite intimidating when he wanted to be.

 Perhaps he could just hide until the day was over. Yeah, all he had to do was stay in the hat all day and no one would ever know he was there.

 Roman settled down for the long day ahead of him.

 When Janus entered his office building, Logan was there to greet him. “Hello Janus, have a good morning?” Logan asked, a polite smile gracing his lips. Janus returned it.

 “Actually, yes.” Which was surprising. And suspicious. Not seeing Roman before he took off for work probably meant Roman was planning something. He sighed but simply logged that information in the back of his mind. He’d deal with that once he got back home. For now, he was going to focus on work.

 “Did Remy finish those reports I sent him yesterday?” Janus asked Logan, who nodded.

 “Yes, in fact, they should be on your desk. I went ahead and already took a look at them. It appears section 4 and 6 might be off, so if you could take a look at those sections in particular, that would be helpful.” Logan explained, looking down at a few notes of his own.

 “I’ll do that. Thank you Logan, I’ll see you during the meeting.” The two parted ways and Janus headed up to his office. As he got to his floor, the intern met him in front of his door.

 “Good morning sir, can I take your hat and coat for you?” Virgil asked quietly, not quite looking Janus in the eye. The kid was timid and shy for sure but no one could deny that Virgil would eventually surpass over half of the people in this company. Even as an intern, Janus could tell the kid was smart.

 “Of course, thank you Virgil.” Janus took his coat off first, handing it to Virgil who placed it over his arm. He then reached up for his hat, beginning to lift it when he heard a small, almost inaudible yelp.

 Janus, having an idea of what, or rather who, could have made that noise, he slammed the hat back down on his head. At the weird look Virgil was giving him, Janus cooled his expression, giving the kid a simple smile. “On second thought, I think I will keep the hat today.”

 “Oh, uh, okay.” Virgil shifted but his anxiety didn’t allow him to question it. “I’ll be back later with your coffee.” Janus nodded and watched Virgil leave, not wanting to appear even weirder by running for his office. Instead, he put on his usual air of indifference and walked into his office like normal.

 He closed the curtains as soon as the door was closed, not wanting anyone to see inside. He then took a seat at his desk and sighed. “Roman, I swear if you are up there…” He let the threat hang there as he reached up to take off his hat, his free hand coming along and grabbing the borrower he knew would be there.

 “Hey!” Roman yelled as Janus retrieved him in a fist. The grip itself was not painful but it was tighter than usual. He was brought before Janus’ giant face, which looked more than a little annoyed. Roman’s own expression turned sheepish. “I mean...hey Janus! Funny, er, bumping into you here.” Roman let out a nervous laugh.

 Janus’ expression didn’t change. “I have a good guess on why you were on my head.” Janus hadn’t forgotten about the whole Ratatouille business. In fact, he had been waiting for a counter strike from the borrower for days now. He just hadn’t been expecting this. “But mind telling me why you decided it would be a good idea to come with me to work of all places?”

 Roman didn’t bother arguing about the first thing. Janus had him figured out and there was nothing Roman could say to convince him otherwise. The other thing though, that he had a viable excuse for. “I didn’t actually mean to come to work with you. I just, well, I...forgot?”

 “You...forgot?” Janus sent him a deadpanned look and Roman frowned.

 “I really did! I was so focused on my plan I forgot why you put your hat on in the first place! And by the time I realized, you were already in your car and I figured if I just stayed hidden you would...never know I was here.” Roman explained quickly, realizing his ‘brilliant’ plan hadn’t really shone all that bright.

 Janus looked at him for another moment before sighing. He opened his hand, allowing Roman to freely sit in his palm. “I believe you, Roman.” And he did. He knew better than most that when Roman got an idea in his head, he tended to ignore all the flaws in it. “Although next time, and I pray that there isn’t a next time, you will tell me before I get to work. I may be annoyed but I will surely be less annoyed than I am right now.”

 “Right, sorry.” Roman said, looking down.

 “Good.” Janus nodded, knowing Roman really was apologetic. “Now, I can’t really leave work just to bring you home, so we’ll have to think of something to-”

 Janus was cut off by the door opening suddenly. “Mr. Declan? I have your coff…” Virgil trailed off as his eyes widened at the sight of the tiny person in Janus’ hands. Roman, at the sight of the new human, froze completely while all Janus could do was facepalm with his free hand.

 “I-I...wh-what is-?” Virgil started, eyes not leaving the tiny man but Janus cut him off.

 “Welp, there’s no use in trying to hide it.” Virgil was too smart for any of Janus’ lies and this was a bit too much to even try and lie about it. “Virgil, meet Roman. Roman, Virgil. Roman here is my roommate.” Janus introduced them.

 Roman stared wide-eyed at Janus but seemed to realize there really was no use hiding. The best they could do now was make sure Virgil didn’t go spilling the beans to anyone else. He put on a smile and bowed in Virgil’s direction. “It’s good to meet you, Virgil!” ...He hoped.

 Virgil seemed at a loss for words for a moment. He came closer to the desk, setting the coffee down and biting his lip. “Um...sup?” He said, giving a little wave.

 Janus smiled slightly. So far so good, though he had already figured Virgil would not react poorly. “Now Virgil,” Virgil’s attention snapped from Roman to Janus. “Roman needs to remain a secret. I’m sure you understand why?”

 Janus watched as Virgil looked back and forth between Roman and Janus, gears turning in his head. He watched as the realization hit Virgil and he nodded almost solemnly. “Good.” Janus was glad to see Virgil saw Roman as a person as well, it was a true call to his character. “Glad everyone is on the same page.”

 Virgil fidgeted slightly, looking like he wanted to ask some questions but stopping himself. “Was there...anything else you needed?”

 Janus was about to dismiss him when an idea came into his mind. One that might work out better for everyone, though especially himself. “Actually yes.” Janus grinned and silently instructed Virgil to hold out his hand, Virgil did so, confused. That confusion turned to shock, however, when Janus dumped Roman into his hand. “I want you to watch him for me.”

 “W-Wait, what?” Virgil stuttered out as Roman himself was looking towards Janus in offense and surprise.

 “Excuse you! I am not a child to be watched!” Not to mention, suddenly being placed in another human’s hand was disorienting. Especially when he didn’t know that human very well.

 “I’m aware of that. But I am also aware of the fact that I need to get some work done and you being here will do nothing except distract me.” He turned back to Virgil. “I figured he’d have more fun tagging along with you anyway.”

 “I mean...yeah, I guess he can come with me. If, uh, you’re okay with it?” Virgil asked, directing the question down at Roman. Roman blinked in surprise, not expecting to be asked.

 “I...suppose I’m not entirely opposed.” He may not know this human and was more than wary of him but if Janus trusted him enough to hand Roman over then Roman supposed he deserved that trust.

 “Just make sure no one else sees him. And that you bring him back here by the end of the day, alright?” Janus spoke, eyes narrowed slightly as he looked Virgil in the eye. He trusted Virgil but he wanted to make sure these things happened.

 Virgil gulped and nodded. “I will, I promise.” He looked back down at Roman. “Anywhere in particular you want to hide? Cause I can’t exactly bring you out in my hands.”

 Roman thought for a moment, looking Virgil over. He pointed to the area where Virgil’s hoodie met his neck. “There seems good. I have a good view and I’ll be hidden from any passing humans.”

 Virgil nodded and lifted his hand, allowing Roman to get off himself and settle down. “Alright, I guess I, er, we will head out then.” He said, talking to Janus.

 Janus nodded. “Yes and thank you again. Roman, be good for him won’t you?” Janus smirked as he heard Roman take offense to his statement and then watched as the two left the room. Janus sighed in relief and settled back in his desk to get his work started.

 The clock read 4 o’clock when Janus started packing up his things. When he had realized Roman had hitched a ride with him that morning, he had been afraid he would not be getting any work done. Fortunately, Virgil finding out about Roman actually worked in his favor and he was able to get even more done than he had set out to do.

 Now all he had to do was wait for Virgil to bring Roman back.

 He need not worry though, as he heard his office door open. Virgil walked through the door, Roman still on his shoulder but Janus was surprised to see them engaged in a rather...interesting conversation.

 “I told you it wasn’t going to work you tiny pain-in-the-scalp.” Virgil said, smirking but also rubbing as his head. Roman huffed.

 “Oh shut it, debbie downer. How was I supposed to know Disney was wrong?”

 “Uh, easy. Because they always are?” At the tiny gasp, Virgil’s smirk grew wider.

 “You take that back!” Roman shouted, standing up on Virgil’s shoulder, causing Virgil to lift a hand up. Roman took it.

 “Make me Princey.”

 “Well, I see you two had fun.” Janus jumped in, seeing this going on for a while. He had never seen Virgil like this before. It was certainly interesting and quite the stark contrast from his usual demeanor.

 Virgil flinched, like he just remembered Janus was also in the room. “Mr. Declan! Uh, sorry we were just-”

 “No reason to apologize Virgil.” Janus interrupted and Virgil let out a breath. “You two seem to have become quite comfortable with each other.” Janus observed. Both Virgil and Roman’s faces went a bit red but neither denied it.

 “Roman’s pretty cool for an arrogant prick.” Virgil said, grinning. 

 “And Virgil is pretty cool for an emo nightmare.” Roman shot back, both of them now grinning.

 Janus smiled but had to admit, he hadn’t seen them getting along this well. “Well, maybe we’ll have to do this again sometime.”

 Roman turned to Janus, blinking in surprise. “Wait, really?” 

 “If that’s what you want. And as long as Virgil doesn’t mind?” Janus looked to Virgil, who shook his head, almost a bit too rapidly.

 “No, not at all! I mean…” he blushed lightly. “I wouldn’t mind seeing Roman again.”

 “Then it’s settled. But for now, Roman and I should be getting home.” Janus held out his hand and Roman climbed on from Virgil’s.

 “Bye Roman, see you...tomorrow?” They both looked to Janus and smiled when he nodded.

 “Bye Virgil!” They both watched as Virgil left before Janus turned his attention back to Roman.

 “So, made another friend, did we?” Janus asked and Roman shrugged.

 “He’s alright. For a human, of course.” Roman said but he couldn’t keep the smile off his face. “I see why you trust him though. He’s one of the good ones.”

 Janus grinned. “I told you, I’m a great judge of character.” Janus started packing up his things with his free hand. “Also I’m going to assume by the conversation when you walked in that I can say I told you so?” Janus smirked, while Roman pouted.

 “Yes, fine. Soak it up. I’ll be the one telling you I told you so next time.”

 Janus snorted. “We shall see about that.” He was interested to see what Roman’s next theory would be, though. “Pocket?” Janus asked, already moving his hand toward his chest.

 “Actually, could I…” Roman pointed to Janus’ head and Janus raised an eyebrow.

 “...Fine. You better not pull my hair though.” Janus lifted Roman up, who once again dropped onto Janus’ head of curls. His hat was then placed on top of Roman.

 “All good?” Janus asked, hand on the door handle.

 “All good!” Roman responded back. Just as Janus opened the door, he felt a slight pull at his hair and he tensed.

 “Roman…” He warned, only to feel Roman squirm.

 “I didn’t mean to! My leg got caught!” 

 Janus sighed, shaking his head. Though not enough to really bother Roman. Sometimes he wondered why he was even friends with the little guy in the first place.

 “Oh and Janus?” Roman said softly. “I’m really sorry again. Thanks for not getting mad.”

 Janus blinked, his frown turning into a soft smile. “Of course, Roman. You may annoy me sometimes but I will never let my anger get the best of me.” Especially when it came to Roman.

 So, okay, maybe he did know why he was friends with Roman.

 Roman smiled, settling down into Janus curls as Janus started to walk again. Janus, and now Virgil, were both good. Good people and good friends.

Act III: Time skips around, tells about life of Virgil with the others, bonding with them and includes mini arcs.

Virgil getting used to being treated like a person 

Birthday Arc (It’s Virgil’s birthday. He’s now thirteen years old. His past Birthdays had either been spent alone or in pain. Virgil is a bit scared to tell the others and doesn’t even plan to until Patton asks why he is acting weird. Virgil reveals the truth and Patton decides right then and there to give him the best birthday ever).

Dad Arc (Virgil accidentally calls Patton dad and freaks out. He runs away before Patton can react. Virgil think back to his actual parents and what they would say. Patton comes in and talks to him and Virgil’s opens up about he’s scared to wonder what his parents would think, to calling someone else dad. Patton tells him that they probably just wants him to be happy and Virgil reveals that calling Patton dad, at least sometimes, makes him happy).

Getting in Trouble Arc (Basically, Virgil does something he knows he shouldn’t have done and Patton has no choice but to ground him (despite how much he doesn’t want to, Logan pushes him to do it) Virgil thinks he’s going to be punished and goes into a panic attack. When Patton comes to check on him, he comforts him and tells him that he would never do that, but that he also can’t just let Virgil get off scot free. Virgil understand but after that, he hardly ever does anything to get in trouble).

Out in the World Arc (Virgil accidentally hitches a ride with Roman on his way to rehearsal. Roman doesn’t find him until he is at the after party sort of thing. Roman debates on whether or not to go home, even though Virgil tells him to stay and that he doesn’t want to ruin his night. Roman reveals that he isn’t a decides to go home).

Act IV: Christmas and Deceit.

Virgil’s first Christmas with his family!

Patton receives a call in the middle of a meal and reveals that it was his brother, who wanted to come over and Patton says he can come over for Christmas eve.

Patton also talks a bit about how he never sees his brother and how excited he is.

Virgil does not want to be revealed and Patton says that’s fine and plans for Virgil to stay in his room.

Despite the dread pulling in his gut, he decides to ignore it and go about the holiday activities.

Including, baking, shopping, watching christmas specials and singing christmas songs.

Christmas eve comes and Virgil is safely in Patton (and his) room when there is a knock on the door. Patton opens it to reveal his twin brother Dee (Deceit).

Dee has a plan. He mingles and little before asking if he may use the restroom. Patton point him to the one downstairs and Dee quickly stuffs the toilet so he can lie and say it was clogged. A bit embarrassed, Patton point to the upstairs bathroom and Dee smirks and goes up but not to use the restroom.

Virgil is minding his own business when the door opens, Virgil admits he’s gotten a bit careless and so doesn’t expect it to be anyone but one of the others. The last human he ever expected to be standing there was Deceit.

Dee talks to Virgil telling him how much he misses him, before grabbing him roughly and telling him he was never going to get away again. Virgil opens his mouth the scream, but Dee covers it with his thumb. Virgil struggles as Dee then gags Virgil. He also explains that he usually wouldn’t go through so much trouble, but that Virgil was going to make him a lot of money.

Dee goes back downstairs with Virgil in his pocket, gagged and tied and acts as normal as possible, waiting to leave at a reasonable time as to not be suspicious.

Virgil is not the weak borrower he used to be, he isn’t going to stand by and let himself be taken by this evil human again. He manages to stretch himself in a way that allows him to get untied so he can untie his gag. He then yells out for the others, who hear him despite Dee’s best efforts to play it off.

He tries to run but Roman tackles him, Patton comes over to pick up Virgil. Virgil explains who Dee is and Patton’s eyes widen in shock but not surprise. His twin has never been the good one.

Patton calls the police and thanks to Dee’s struggles giving Roman a black eye, they are able to claim assault and Dee gets sent to jail for a year. Though Patton threatens that if he goes near Virgil again he will send him right back.

The others finish celebrating Christmas together and Virgil is happy.
