I postulate that human!Rocky would be a big, burly guy - a Chris Hemsworth of Eridians, he dwarfs Grace, he's made of muscles. (His first name is Rockland, actually, what a coincidence!)

He's big, he's nerdy, he's an oil rig engineer and he adores his buddy Grace. They met when stranded on a sea after their respective oil rig/ship capsized, and they teamed up to survive on a lonely island for almost a year, pulling on their respective knowledge bases to make it out.

Now they're trauma-bonded and Grace spends every Saturday followed by a strongman, looming over him whenever anything resembling danger appears. People at the school think "Huh, Mr Grace finally found someone. Didn't know he was gay, but it's fine. The guy is a bit intense, tho..."

But it's stranger than that. They aren't couple, because Grace is aroace and Rocky is married, but they also aren't not a couple.
