Halloween - It was the party of the century.

I finally finished! 

I had such a depression crisis during that stupid job.... Good freaking God I’m out of that goddamn work....Now i gotta find another.....

Ash:*won't fall asleep no matter what Chloe did*

Chloe:*is just super tired as this has been going on for hours* Elijah? Mind giving me a hand here?

Elijah:*walks over to see how he can help* What would you like me to do?

Chloe:*hands Ash over* Could you try to put Ash to sleep? I cant get him to calm down.

Elijah:*holding Ash close, tries the bounce and rock which doesn't work* Sshhh....shhh...oh, sweetheart. *tries to think of something that'll work and then it hits him* Good morning, Starshine. The earth says 'hello'.

Elijah:*continues to sing as Ash slowly starts to calm down*

Ash:*falls asleep in his arms*

As a ghost, night was simply just a quieter part of the day. There was no need for sleep or shelter. It was harder though, getting through those long stretches of darkness. There weren't that many people around, and even then most of them didn't want to be bothered. The night was a more personal time, but personal time for a ghost was often less than pleasant.

Of course, night time at Camp Chitaqua had gotten a little more interesting recently. With all the unexpected changes that had happened, there were a lot of new faces out, lingering between the twilight hours. 

Even as a human, Ash still had trouble sleeping at night but he was surprised to see Sookie still up. She was sitting alone on the small front stoop of her cabin in the dark. He had almost missed her. 

"Hey Sook. You alright?"

Ash approached carefully. It was still so strange to think that Sookie, the bright girl who always greeted him with a smile, was now a vampire. That familiar smile was still there however as she turned to greet him.

"Hey Ash. I'm fine, I just can't sleep. I was just sitting out here, trying to think of something to do. It gets pretty quiet out here after everyone goes to bed doesn't it?"

Ash returned Sookie's friendly smile as she scooted over, gesturing for him to sit down next to her.

"Why aren't you with Jo?"

"Can't sleep either, and she kicks."

The two of them sat in companionable silence for a few moments, just enjoying the company. Neither of them wanted to break the silence with words. It was enough to just listen to the sound of the snow, like a quiet rain as it piled up on the trees and cabins around them. 

Looking up, Ash sighed. 

"I used to sit out here and look at the stars at night, but I think this is just as beautiful, watchin' the snow fall."

Sookie grinned.

"We never got much snow in Louisiana, so this is a real treat for me. It just keeps falling, I've never seen anything like it, and now I don't even feel the cold. I could sit out here and watch it all night."

Ash laughed.

"Yeah, I guess that's one good thing about being dead. I'm freezing my ass off out here."

Ash gave Sookie a goofy look and she cracked up laughing. 

-rips off the newspaper and laughs-

Aw, thanks Sook. 

Jo! Damn. No need to knock me over.
