Being as popular as she is, Penny Haywood starts getting asked out a lot in her fifth and sixth years. She always turns people down, even before finding the words aromantic and asexual, but usually she asks if the person would be interested in hanging out and getting to know one another as friends. Once comes out as aroace, even more people approach her, asking if she's interested in platonic "dates" down in Hogsmeade or by the lake. Many of these hopeful-friends realize they're aspec as well.
(forgot to say, but points to Ravenclaw for the Penny headcanon, please!)
Aww, fantastic! This is SO, 100% Penny. Two points for answering my flash prompt.

Rowan Khanna has known she was ace and quoiro since her fifth year. When Charlie Weasley came out as aroace, she supported him in the best way she knew howâby reading every book in the library that mentioned asexuality and aromanticism. It wasn't long before she realized that a lot of the stories she read resonated with her personally, and then it was time for Charlie to support HER in HIS wayâby taking her on long, rambling walks where he would listen to her talk through her realizations. -R
Omg, this is perfect! I love the little friendship thatâs blossomed between Rowan and Charlie here. Thanks for answering the flash prompt!

Luna is quoiromantic and asexual, as well as genderfluid! On their masculine/boy days, they go by Apollo. Hufflepuff!
Yellow means feminine. A yellow ribbon in her hair, a big yellow bracelet, a yellow skirt, a yellow belt around her robes. It means feminine and she/her and Luna.Â
Orange means agender. An orange earring of her own creation, an orange necklace, an orange hat or shoe buckle. It means neutrality and they/them and Luna.
Green is masculine. A green robe, green buttons down her shirt, a green streak running through long, blonde hair. It means masculine and he/him and Apollo.
Luna doesnât need specific symbols for the quoiromanticism or asexuality that are also a part of her like she does for how to refer to her, but she enjoys them nonetheless. Brilliant hues of purple, green, and blue complimented by black, white, and gray are found upon many things Luna owns. Shirts, robes, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, flags, broaches, socks, wall art, paintings, wand holsters, mirror and picture frames, wand holder covers, and more. Her absolute favorite pride piece is the mural all of her friends have helped her to paint, though.Â
It covers the entire ceiling of his bedroom. The background is a sizzling mixture of purple, blue, green, white, and black all swirling together. Apollo and all of his friends painted some representation of their friendship. The ceiling is graced with lions, eagles, different visions of nargles, an ouroboros, radishes, and hearts courtesy of Neville, Ginny, Harry, Hermione, and Ron. It is, of course, completed by Apolloâs addition of painting all of their faces together. Hermione and Ginny actually found the quote, which encircles the edge of the mural, for him. âA true friend is someone who will always love you â the imperfect, the confused, the wrong you â because that is what people are supposed to do.â by someone they only knew as RJL. But Apolloâs favorite part of the mural is everybodyâs signature, big and bold, by their contribution.
Every night that Luna falls asleep under it brings only sweet dreams and comfort.

Aromantic pansexual Harry, biromantic asexual Ron, and greyromantic demisexual Hermione.

Mod Annoucnement
It is with a heavy heart that I, Hufflepuff Mod, announce that I am leaving AroAceHogwarts. I have a couple things in the queue, but Iâm officially gone after this post. Mental health issues as well as other goings on and life changes in my personal life and honestly issues with the authorâs continued behavior have been wearing on me. Iâve put so much into this blog, I love my fellow mods, I love all our followers, and I especially love all the times anyone has interacted with and created for this blog. Yâall are a bright spot in this world. Iâve had some amazing times on this blog, read some fantastic things, took in so much glorious art. Iâll keep my time on this blog with me fondly forever. Itâs been a hard decision and not one Iâve made lightly. I will deeply miss all of you, and I go sending you all good vibes and my best wishes.
I would like to leave you with this beautiful quote that defines something I need to do more, and that I hope Iâll be able to focus on more by leaving this blog:
[Thanks to @harrypotterhousequotes for this âHufflepuffâ quote: âWe live in a shockingly beautiful world. We are walking through the living kingdom of heaven every day; the colors, the sound, the love of others, the potential to create, the plants, the wildlife, nature, music, all sensations and life⊠but if we refuse to see color and beauty we may as well be in Hell.â from the Gorillaz (by Noodle in Rise of the Ogre).]
And perhaps this quote may inspire some of you as well to take in more beauty in your own lives. Thanks for bearing with me on this journey so far. Continue creating and celebrating and enjoying yourselves. <3

Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington is royalty. A wizard. Gryffindor. Compassionate. Kind. Clumsy. Loving. Learning the sword. A little bit goofy, to be honest. But he is also brave. He associates with and stands up for muggles, though it could cost him his station. He comes out as aromantic (though thatâs the term for it nowadays, not how he originally came out), though itâs not how heâs expected to act - to be.Â
And then he died. Was murdered - literally by a hack job. Now all heâs known for is being nearly headless. If heâs lucky, some younger years know him as the kind ghost that helps them find their class. Even that usually turns to how heâs nearly headless once theyâre more confident around the castle. Sigh.
Back in his day, his name meant something. Ah, well. At least he didnât die with the reputation that the Baron did. And certainly it must mean something to the one or two students he helps teach about aromanticism. He hopes.
Aro/Ace Harry Potter Fanworks Competition WINNERS Announcement
Theyâd wanted to use Hogwarts but with the inability to apparate onto the grounds, they thought Hogsmeade would be a more accessible meeting place. Even though she was absolutely a romantic at heart and loved creating safe and romantic atmospheres, Madam Puddifoot was aroace - and absolutely delighted when AroAceHogwarts asked several Hogsmeade business owners if theyâd let them host an event there. The shopkeep was proud to be able to welcome her fellow aros and aces into her shop. So thatâs how the normal pink theme of Madam Puddifootâs tea shop had temporarily turned an interesting and fun mash of purple, green, and black.
Sock (better known as Hufflepuff Mod), Snafu (better known as Ravenclaw Mod), and Arti (better known as Professor of Charms) were happy to rest their wrists from all the re-decorating, though they couldnât get off their feet just yet. The first of the audience was showing up. Arti kindly greeted folk as they showed up to the door, thanking them for being able to spare the time, and offering them their pick of the seating. With her wand tucked behind her ear, Snafu was working at a table in the corner of the shop, working out the electrical kinks that kept popping up due to all the magical interference. The three mods wanted those who couldnât travel to be able to pop in via computer. Theyâd known itâd be a troublesome task, but so far, theyâd been working on the optimism of good luck. For the moment, Sock wasnât to be seen, but it could be assumed ey was back âstageâ working with whatever was the source of that mysterious roaring that broke out every now and then.
Madam Puddifoot happily chatted up the early wyrms and brought out drinks in addition to the snacks and finger foods already awaiting the guests. As time ticked closer to the start of the event, more and more guests began trickling in and tables filling up. Finally, Snafu looked up with a smile as the computer cooperated and several more guests joined in on a video conference call, the closest seats in the house. She wandered up to the front, giving Arti the signal that it was about to start. Arti propped the door open - just a bit so that the noise wouldnât bother the rest of the street too much but so that it would still signal they were happy to receive late guests, and hurried to the back with Snafu.
Sock greeted them both with a smile. âTime already?â
âAlready? How about finally?â Snafu teased at the same time Arti responded with âeverythingâs ready!â The three grabbed their cue scrolls, smoothed out their robes, carefully wheeled the covered cart that Sock had been looking after, and took a peek out at the eager audience before hitting the stage.
âNot a bad turnout,â Snafu murmured. The crowd wasnât giant, but it was more than the three had been expecting, which was very exciting - though a little nervewracking. The crowd looked happy as they chatted amongst themselves, catching up with folk theyâd previously only known by screen name and meeting new friends. Most the crowd was proudly wearing at least one type of pride merch, many fully decked out in amazing outfits.
Madam Puddifoot dimmed the lights and the crowdâs murmuring slowly quieted.
âReady?â Sock asked? Ey would give the opening speech, followed by Snafu announcing the winner of the fanart section, and ending with Arti announcing the winner of the fanfiction section. The two in question nodded, then all three slipped out from behind the makeshift curtains, gently pulling or pushing the cart along with them, surprised by a round of applause at their appearance. Under the cover on the cart, small roaring was drowned out by the clapping. Sock took up position at the microphone as Arti and Snafu stood slightly behind eir, on either side of the cart.
âWelcome and thank you all for showing up!â Sock paused for another round of applause and some cheering. âIâm Sock, though you probably know me as Hufflepuff Mod, and I help run AroAceHogwarts, along with my two co-mods back here: Snafu and Arti,â ey gestured to each of eir co-mods in kind while the audience clapped - and a few people even shouted out hellos. âWe appreciate all the time many of you took for our little Aromantic, Asexual Creative Competition! So many of you submitted such fantastic art or wrote amazing stories for all of us to enjoy. Special thank you to all our contestants: @tonftyhw, @elusiveimp, @little-chikadee, @pheuthe, @captainoflifeandlemons, @shiro-naru, @bi-baudelaires, and @amortenteia! And so many of you showed up to vote for your favorites! In fact, Iâm happy to admit that all of you did wonderful - absolutely everyone in both the art and fic category received a vote!â There was another small bout of clapping. âWeâre very excited to get to conclude our first Creative Competition and get to announce our winners. Once weâve announced a winner, that person should feel free to come up to the stage and accept their prize! Youâre also welcome to give an acceptance speech, though youâre not obligated to. So, without further ado, please welcome Snafu for your artist winner!â
The audience clapped while Sock and Snafu switched positions. âHello! Thank you for being with us this evening to celebrate the aroace community and its brilliant creatives. Though we only have one winner in each category of this competition, everyone who creates and everyone who admires those creations makes our communities (wixen and muggle) even more magical places to be. We appreciate every one of yâall! Now, without further ado, although we know that @tonftyhw won the category, Iâm proud to announce that the piece of theirs that won is A Slightly Burned Dragon Enthusiast!â The crowd, including those calling in, burst into applause and enthusiastic cheering. When tonftyhw took the stage, Arti and Sock shook their hand, before a grinning Snafu shook their hand and handed them a paper certificate. âAnd we have another surprise for you,â Snafu said, gesturing towards the covered cart. The audience, as well as tonftyhw leaned forward in interest. As one, Arti and Sock pulled back one corner of the cover, revealing a housecat-sized Hungarian Horntail, which gave the mightiest roar it could when the cover was pulled back and jumped into the air. In its feet, it held a small scroll with the word âWINNERâ on it.
by birdzgoboom
Snafu leaned in closer to tonftyhw to be heard over the crowd, who was now on their feet, scrambling for a closer look. âTheyâre a bit shy. Weâll keep âem up here for now so they donât get skittish in the crowd. Donât forget to come and collect yours before you go, though! If you canât take care of one, we absolutely understand, but theyâre mostly just magic, so theyâre pretty low maintenance.â
When the excitement of the reveal had finally settled down and tonftyhw was back in their seat (after petting the Horntail a few times, of course), it was time for Arti to take the mic. âHello, and thank you all for coming tonight. It is wonderful to see all our entrants into the Competition here and amazing to see all of you who came out to support them. Now, without further delay, it is my pleasure to announce the winner of the fanfic competition! Please congratulate the author of Seeking the Cr*zy - @pheuthe!â As enthusiastic as before, the crowd burst into applause and whooping as Liu, also known as pheuthe, made their way to the stage. Snafu and Sock shook their hand before a smiling Arti shook their hand and handed them their certificate. âAnd, of course,â ae gestured behind aerself, prompting Snafu and Sock to uncover the second Hungarian Horntail. This one jumped into the air, flapped their wings, and spit a small stream of fire into the air. The purple and green âWINNERâ text stood out nicely in the brief stream of light.
by birdzgoboom
Once Liu had their own chance to pet the miniature dragon and everyone was back in their seats, Sock once again stepped up to the mic to finish things up.
âAgain, we cannot express how grateful we are to you all for being willing to create, share your work, and just generally make sure this Competition ended up successful. And we hope everyone will join us in thanking the amazing spellcaster and charms master, by birdzgoboom, for helping to create these little prize critters! We have the rest of the night in Madam Puddifootâs as well, so please feel free to stay for as long as you want and enjoy some good food! Weâll also be accepting people up one by one to see our little dragons up close. Thanks and enjoy!â
Please join us in congratulating the winners and thanking all our wonderful creatives for their hard work and fantastic creations!
