And actually deep down so is Dennis. And secretly Vic wants to get a good grade in girlfriend.

So on the surface strangers might think whoa how is Vic so sassy to her silly rat boyfriend or damn Dennis is kind of a doormat huh how did he pull VICTORIA JAVADI but it’s actually all part of a long Cold War of the two biggest brats on planet earth. Whenever the other one thinks they’re finally on top the other breaks out the puppy dog eyes.

Imagining them as full fledged doctors in the ED getting into a bickering match over some fine detail in a paper they read and how it should be applied and eventually Whitaker concedes bc he kinda knew he was wrong the whole time but Vic is so cute when she’s pissed and maybe one of the ER macho dudes is like good move. but I bet you’re still in the doghouse tonight and he’s thinking in his head “I hope so like don’t save me I’m exactly where I want to be”

But Vic brings him a can of monster later and gives him the big doe eyes and says “I’m so glad I can intellectually disagree with you baby you’re the best” and he thinks the floor is going to swallow him any minute now VicTORia you’re ruining my brat agenda by being an angel!!! You’re supPOSed to punish me later!!!

And then maybe it gets cold so she puts on his sweatshirt and when he sees her he walks straight into a gurney and gives himself a concussion

Its been an hour and Vic is a lil bit tipsy and loose and Dennis is dancing with this really hot guy and Trinity notices that she’s staring at them.

an hour after that, Yolanda, dancing with Trinity, notices too and as the adultiest adult of the group, tells the bartender to switch Vic’s drinks to mocktails because she is too drunk too quickly.

on the way back to the Dentos apt, Trinity and Yolanda are hanging onto each other in the back, watching as Dennis is gently but vigilantly making sure Vic doesn’t trip over her own bare feet, he’s also carrying her shoes and jacket.

Victoria is just happy go lucky borderline singing in the rain dancing down the street, still tipsy but not dangerously so. Dennis was switching her mocktails with his soda, not knowing they were mocktails.

She’s then too tired to make it up the stairs so Dennis straight up bridals her up four flights of stairs. She falls into a light sleep on the way up. He deposits her in his bed, places her shoes and coat on his desk and places a tshirt next to her. He changes clothes and makes his way out to sleep on the couch.

the next morning, Yolanda comes out of the bedroom to see Victoria and Dennis cuddled on the couch. obviously having fallen asleep watching whatever on netflix. Victoria’s in one of his shirts and laying on his chest, a puddle of drool under her. He’s sprawled out in a way that cannot be comfortable AT ALL but it’s just too cute not to snap a picture of.

No one says anything about it but the seeds are there.

Every time their schedules line up to have the same days off, they’re doing movie night. Vic and Dennis are always cuddled. Trinity and Yolanda never finish the movie, at least one of them falls asleep every time.

Vic and Dennis get into a what-if conversation and stir some reason, she kisses him. He’s surprised at first, but kisses her back. Yolanda, previously snoozing, saw this.

it’s a little awkward after that and they don’t talk about it. Victoria is stressing at work and Samira picks up on it and gets her to open up. She realized after saying it out loud that she’s attracted to his confidence and security in himself.

Samira’s advice: “boys are stupid. but also: it’s Whitaker, he’s most likely just waiting for you to decide what you want, trying not to put pressure on your decision.”

Samira telling Parker about the relationship drama and Parker just pulling Dennis aside like “what are your intentions with my intern??”

Dennis being like, “i like her but i don’t want to pressure her so I’m cool with whatever she decides. but i really like her.” Parker having a proud Queer moment for her twunk step-son.

Trinity trying to be matchmaker but her efforts are useless because she is an unobservant lesbian unless there’s a medical emergency. she’s trying to push them together and Yolanda is like “Honey no… just, no.”

at the end of the shift, Dennis takes Victoria’s hand and they walk off together.
