Captive Hiccup AU: An AU of Midnight Scrum where Hiccup is held in complete isolation and inhumane conditions desperately waiting to be rescue except that, unknown to him, his kidnappers had made sure his friends, father and the rest of Berk believed him to be dead.

Orphan Hiccup AU: When Hiccup is seven Berk received the news that there was an attack at the Chief's Gathering and that everyone, including Stoick, is dead. The Jorgenson use that opportunity to cast Hiccup out of the Haddock Clan (rendering it technically extinct) and to seize control.

Broken Hiccup AU: An AU of "Triple Cross" where Hiccup is separated from Toothless and doesn't escape (Toothless and Viggo do). He is then heavily tortured and abused for five whole days to the point it becomes too much for his mind to handle. Valka, thanks to the Skrill, ended up finding him and bring him back to her Sanctuary to take care of him.

HTTYD/TDP crossover idea: Twenty-four years old Hiccup and Astrid caught in a storm during a patrol around New Berk (the dragons never left) only to find themselves in Katolis (sometimes during season 1). Once they met with the tdp gang and just took one look at the kids (along with Soren later on), they just took them under their wings because they saw so much of themselves and their friends in them.
Opinions wanted for a modern HTTYD AU
I'm writing a RTTE AU set in a secondary school (high school), where some characters (including the RTTE gang) are students, and some (including Stoick, Gobber, and other adult Berkians) are teachers.
I decided that Gobber should be the History teacher, since he teaches the gang about Berk's history (e.g. Bork the Bold) in the shows and short films as well as the first movie, iirc. However, I've just remembered the existence of Skulder the Archaeologist from School of Dragons, and I'm wondering whether he should be the History teacher instead. If so, should Gobber be the Geography teacher? The DT teacher? (That would work for his blacksmithing skills.) If not, should I make Skulder a student, or the teacher of another subject?
